Currently half way through yet another stunning Summer residency upon the world's most famous club terrace - Space, Ibiza - Paul Woolford, long standing resident for their flagship Sunday afternoon/evening party, comes to Bristol and specifically to Electroquisite as part of his worldwide 'We Love Space 08' compilation album tour!
Biography
With an approach and attitude that is slightly different to most, Paul Woolford has established himself as one of the most original dj/producer/remixers that house music has exposed in recent times.
At the age of 17, a trip to Leeds clubbing institution Back II Basics where he would later become resident, proved the catalyst in Paul's decision to not only pursue a career as a DJ, but also as a producer.
Paul released of his first record at just 21, and it wasn't long before he embarked upon his 'Bobby Peru' project which gained him plaudets from all corners of the industry's media. Collaborations with high end artists the likes of Tony Senghore, Steve Mac, Yousef and Underwater's Darren Emerson were accompanied a host of releases & remixes for respected labels such as 2020 Vision, Subliminal, Junior Boys Own & more recently Cr2 Records. However, despite the success he was experiencing in the studio, Paul always considered himself as much a DJ as he did a producer, and his skills behind the turntables didn't go unnoticed.
Four 30 minute Radio 1 hot-mixes, all vastly different from one another, inevitably lead to a 2004 Essential Mix debut that achieved acclaimed feedback and transformed Paul from a DJ considered to be amongst the UK's most exciting emerging talents, into one placed amongst the world's elite... Indeed, in addition to the hoardes of clubber fans, Paul has become the DJ's choice of DJ, counting amongst his admirers the likes of John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Andrew Weatherall, Pete Tong, Paul Daley, Derrick Carter, Nic Fanciulli and Danny Tenaglia, the latter of which makes no secret of the fact that Paul is his own personal favorite jock... an immense accolade.
Now, Paul brings to EQ the same unique DJ style that has year on year wowed legions of international clubbers and kept them swarming back to the world famous Space Terrazza each & every Summer...
Joining Paul in the main arch will be Electroquisite residents Luke Langson & Clinton Brown, whilst in Room 2 we welcome back New City Sound's fast rising talent Dan Masey alongside resident Alex Clark and Arcadia's James Lanceley who makes his EQ debut, ensuring musical variation that suits all tastes throughout.
Over the last 18 months, EQ events have just got better & better... and in turn, busier & busier. Whilst this is a nice problem to have, it has often left to many disappointed guests missing out due to the club being full before they arrive...
