After the overwhelming success of last February's launch party, Electroquisite returns on Saturday 8th March with the second instalment of the 2008 Decadent Series...
... and keeping up the trend of showcasing the artists at the forefront of the house music industry, we present yet another first time Bristol appearance from an act who with no less than 6 Beatport Top Tens during the last 12 months alone, has cemented his postion as one of Europe's most elite producers...
OLIVIER GIACOMOTTO (Definitive/Acquaholic)
It's fair to say that if your a DJ, producer, or generally just a lover of house music, you will at some point have visited Beatport and downloaded some music...
It's also fair to say that if you've been on Beatport during the last 12 months, the name of our next guest is a name that you would have most likely seen at some point, sitting in the Top Ten chart to the right hand side of the screen!!!
In the last year alone, Olivier Giacomotto has managed no less than 6 Top Ten hit productions, a feat that has lead to him becoming one of the most in demand remixers/ producers in the industry and firmly established him amongst the continent's leading acts...
Having began his career working in recording studios back in the late 1990's, Olivier learned the tools of his trade alongside various famous bands, producers, studio musicians and sound engineers.
Having released over 20 EP's throughout 2004-2005, Olivier began to gain support & recognition from a host of major DJ's & artists including the likes of Carl Cox, Misstress Barbara, Chris Liebing, Umek, Marco Bailey, Dave Angel and Green Velvet amongst many others...
The release of the "Jamon y Queso" EP in 2006 saw his career really take off, with instant creditation coming from worldwide dj's such as the legendary Sven Vath and one of Olivier's own longtime John Acquaviva... Indeed, it was Aqcuaviva himself who signed Olivier's next release entitled "Walking on The Moog" to his own 'Definitive' label... a track that received international acclaim and went on to become Olivier's first Beatport Top Ten hit!
This opened the floodgate for 2007 and the Top Ten records came thick & fast... his reworking of the fantastic "Robot Needs Oil" by Volta was signed by Defected following it's chart topping postiion early in the year, and this was closely followed by his remix of Vortechtral's "The Funk" and his own incredible production "Gail in the O" which Acquaviva even applied his midas touch to.
Since then, Olivier's Top Ten hits have included his own incredible production "Sushi in S Major" along with his remixes of both Hipp-E's "Major Waves" and Mantra Vibes' "Running From". What's more, his latest offerings "Mac Daddy" and the collaboration with his now regular production & DJ parter Acquaviva for the "Sofa King/Good" EP are tipped for the same heady success.
Olivier's success in the studio has seen his touring the world, demonstrating the overwhelming talent behind the decks that he has crafted over the last decade in some of the world's most famous underground venues.... a tour that will now count Bristol & Timbuk2 amongst it's list of destinations...
Joining Olivier in Room 1 will be Electroquisite residents Luke Langson & Alex Clark, whilst in Room 2 we welcome local legend Dan Pearce of Secret Sanchex & We Like To Party for his first EQ performance in over 18 months. Dan lines up alongside Tom Bruton & Dave Carter insuring a party atmosphere from start to finish.
Over the last 18 months, EQ events have just got better & better... and in turn, busier & busier. Whilst this is a nice problem to have, it has often left to many disappointed guests missing out due to the club being full before they arrive...
AS SUCH, FROM THIS MONTH FORWARD, WE WILL BE OFFERING EVERYONE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GUARANTEE THEIR ENTRY WITH ADVANCE TICKETS NOW ABAILABLE TO BUY FROM BRISTOL TICKET SHOP.
We have no doubt that this next party is set to be off the scale one more... just like the last countless EQ nights.
