PLAY SATURDAY 16 MAY TIMBUK2 ********** BRIGHTON'S BEST RESUMES HIS ANNUAL RESIDENCY From Brighton to Bordeaux and now back to Bristol, Tom Gandy, aka Cagedbaby, took time out on the continent following the completion of his album on Fatboy Slim's Southern Fried imprint, and returns to the DJ circuit refreshed and ready to rock. After two gigs at last year's Glastonbury festival [both with his band and behind the decks], Caged baby has settled back into destroying the coolest clubs in Europe and hits Timbuk2 on Saturday 16th May for the 3rd instalment of his annual PLAY residency. 2009 has seen Deepgroove’s PLAY parties go from strength to strength, hosting guests such as King Roc, D.Ramirez and Ame. ‘The city of Bristol is finally embracing Techno music and these boys are at the forefront of it’ – Ed Karney [Mixmag Techno editor] Deepgroove themselves have recently released a single on Cocoon [Sven Vath] and Rekids [Radio Slave], plus played gigs at ‘We love…’ [Ibiza] , World DJ festival [Seoul] and the Arches [Glasgow]. Support comes from PLAY after party resident and all-round fun time merchant JT, one half of Bristol's most intimate underground techno parties, Bleeep. Meanwhile, Catmonkey returns to host the second room!
