Shamania is a spiritually refreshing and exhilirating, new way to celebrate the ancient Celtic festival of Lugnasadh, known latterly as Lammas. A time and place in which to re-connect ourselves to the Earth and Cosmos; whilst searching beyond the self, seeking the divine spark within. Providing ample opportunity for self-realization, self-transformation, and self-transcendence; The emphasis of the festival is about enjoyment, edification, enlightenment and evolution.
It is our hope that participants of the Shamania Festival will feel that they are creating a difference; and, via non-local connectedness, that vthey are actually making a positive contibution to the evolution of our species’ collective consciousness. The beauty of the location alone is condusive with the ‘great vibe, best party of the year’ feel that was engendered at last year’s event.
Headlining this year’s Shamania Festival; are Logic Bomb from Sweden.
There is to be a film presentation of ‘Liquid Crystal Vision’ by German director Torsten Klimmer.
A variety of workshops enabling a participatory experience, are on offer; topping the bill is a ‘Dhamal’ workshop presented by Syed Hamraz Ahsan, a creative writer, poet, columnist, healer and Sufi practitioner. Born into a Syed family, his ancestors are renowned for their Sufi links. Hamraz is a follower of 16th century Sufi saint Hazrat Madho Lal Hussain. Hussain was a joyful Sufi, following the sensual path of spirituality. Mr. Ahsan’s daughter, Tania; a writer, artist and journalist (former editor of Prediction magazine and popular speaker at past Pendle Witch Camps), will be demonstrating how to decorate ‘Spirit Stones’.
Shamania is the sort of outdoor party you always dreamed of going to, featuring the biggest names on the psy-trance scene; along with the finest, satori-seared chill-out music; being played in an exquisitely picturesque setting, on the border between Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Pendle Hill dominates the immediate landscape; with the 3 Peaks poking up in the distance. In modern times, Pendle Hill is mainly associated with the witchraft outbreaks, which occurred in the early 17th Century.
