Most notable of the Jungle nights was the legendary AWOL at Ministry of Sound, supporters of this exciting and inherently British music flocked from all over the UK and beyond to experience the sped up breakbeats and speaker busting basslines that everyone was raving about. The DJs who presided over proceedings were like military generals, spinning the freshest dubplates for an army of dedicated fans. AWOL was all about the elite unit of artists that showcased the ruff and raw Jungle sound. Mickey Finn, Darren Jay, Kenny Ken, Randall, Dr S Gachet, MC GQ and MC Fearless would showcase this wholly urban music with expert dexterity and the soldiers who attended these nights marched home with the buzz of experiencing something legendary that would stay with them until the next event.
