This is a daytime event (e.g. starts late morning or early afternoon - see below for times).
On the first Saturday of June in 2008 the Strawberry Fair Committee will be presenting the finest free event in the whole galaxy, Strawberry Fair 2008 will shine out from midsummer common like a beacon of joy and happiness spreading the love that only a completely free, volunteer powered, sponsor free event can deliver. You are all cordially invited to come and party with us on midsummer common, but this year we're asking for something extra from you our crowd. This year at Strawberry Fair we're having a "no spectators" policy we want you to get involved by getting propper dressed up and being part of the performance, if you and a load of your mates want to dress up as lobsters and run around the site screaming "we must pinch the pidgeons of despair!" that would be lovely. Normally i'd list all the stages and areas but this year we're doing a few radical things and we haven't finalised the programme yet, all i can say is this year we will be having a massive emphasis on art and making the place look pretty. Trust me there will be loads of good music representing the cream of local talent and maybe a few bigger acts. Remember Strawberry Fair is Europe’s largest volunteer powered, sponsorship free, not for profit, free festival, this is only possible with the Cambridge community’s continued support, if you can give a few hours on the day to steward, help out before the event with the crew work or by doing some art for us (painting backdrops and other decorations) or after the event by helping to pick up all the litter we generate then please drop an email to iwanttohelp@strawberry-fair.org.uk See you all on Midsummer common - Long Live Strawberry Fair!!!!
