How Clean Is Your House smashed it again
Well what can i say it was an amazing night with amazing djs and amazing people. was only the second time hciyh had been to alberys and have already gained some regulars. Shepz started the night of with some quality commercial tracks thanks for the warm up, then tom and Dave did there usual they smashed it Dave started with a few lighter tunes and then smashed them with a wicked insomnia remix which every one went mad for and followed up with an amazing underworld track, then it was toms turn who dropped I'm an alien from out of space out of no where i didn't know he had it Dave didn't know he had it but oh my god what a tune, both doing b2b for the rest of the night and kept every one dancing till the end, well done boys you made me proud

Am i the only one that felt a bit let down by this night? That was not a london atmosphere in the club and the music was a little dated if predicatable. The Dj did say he was keeping it lighter for students but i felt a little cheated for £4. However there were some amazing tunes that night, such as tomas Anderson and Dave spoon, 2 of the best songs of last year. It was good fun but certainly didn't meet the expectations of me and my friends, but we might just be a bit picky!

Lol.

I do believe majority of the tunes that were played were released this year - especially in my set!

The reason I say "london club atmosphere" is because there were no twats about as is usual in Canterbury... either that or I wasn't paying attention to anyone trying to act 'ard bruv. I was going around chatting to anyone and everyone and as far as I'm concerned that's cool!

Me and my group of friends do the london circuit pretty much every single weekend. All of us said we had the best night out in Canterbury on Thursday... the afterparty continued at my gaff afterwards and no sleep was had until saturday lol. Good times.

we did meet a few twats that night actually, a group of larger men that wouldn't leave the girls of our group alone and would push any other male quite nastily, but i do understand what you mean when you say there were less twats about than normal. I felt that the main problem of the night was the contstant swithching of the Dj's, im not slatting it as they both did stellar jobs, it was just that it became disjoineted, and i quite like my sets to flow. I do appreciate the fact that alberrys is trying to bring good genres of music to kent, especailly if the were able to have a purely electro/electroinca night.

Hey Joey thanks for the constructive criticism.

The general opinion of the night was that it rcoked and i would say 80% of the people there if not would agree more. Myself and Tom love our tech and prog house trouble is you have to change to suit the venue, its a hard call to make but personally i think ur better off having a happy 89% than an nhappy one, we would love to of played a little bit harder and maybe even banged some techno out, but this just would have cleared the dancefloor except for the few hardcore, you have to adust to the venue as me and tom have expririenced in our time of promoting.

We played a varied of selection of Electro tunes some of them were exclusive promos dont remmebr any really old tunes except for the thomas anderson one (but thats a foooooookin classic anyway)

your thoughts are aprecited but everyone else had a fucking wicked party and we enjoyed being part of it, sorry you didnt feel the music didnt flow but i have to disagree (serious) as i thought that was the best me and tom had ever played on a b2b situation.

anyway thanks for the support may be worth checking us out on the 21st @ River, Maidstone where we have fenech soler and the venue and crowd allow us to get a little harder faster and dirtier !!!

Sorry to hear this .

That was not a london atmosphere in the club

Thats right its not london its a wine bar in canterbury. But its stil the best atmosphere in canterbury on a thur night!!

The Dj did say he was keeping it lighter for students but i felt a little cheated for £4.

The majority of the crowd are students and a lot of them (not all) arent used to electro so we try to keep everyone happy if possible .But if we were to take the music too deep or too proggy the crowd drift off , therefor we kept it more of a party atmosphere and judging by the amount of people still there at the end we didnt do too bad a job.

Its 4 quid mate lets be honest it doesnt break the bank im sure theres other clubs in canterbury that charge more and all you get is cheese.

As for dated tunes i personnally can say that 90% of the tunes i played were no older than 2 months max . Theres always room for an old classic tune though (thomas andersson be it from 2005 )to bring back memories of those past clubbing experiences and get he dancefloor moving!!

Sounds a goodun boyz,

Looks like i may be a bit too underground to be invited along to canterbury but will certainly come and join the crowd on the next little venture...

Keep up the good work chaps ;o)

I would like to say that I was disappointed with the night... Mainly because the music was so so quiet. We could stand a metre away from the speakers and not have to shout. I like to feel the music and not be able to hear people shuffling around on the dance floor.
Some dirtier electro would also have been appreciated!
I know Canterbury isn't London, but I live in a tiny town by the sea way down in the west-country and the music, I'm sorry to say, is better, so unfortunately the night didn't impress me!

The sounds system in Alberrys is pants! Always has been! However the owner reconed it was 3k when we did a few nights there! IS IT MY ASS! They dont let you bring any extra speakers aswell! We've not been back since we blew it up aparently! Not hard though, my Hi Fi can go louder!
There's a crowd for quality music when the students are about, as some of our parties at Tonic were off the hook!
Hopefully someone will open up a venue in the not too distant future, although i believe this is pretty hard because of the Cathedral.

we would love to play louder and dirtier but because of the venue this is not possible if you ever get the chance to see HowCleanIsYourHouse @ river or any other club then you will see what i mean, it is hard though coz we always say the dirtier the better but not every body agrees so unfortunatly we have to please the majority not the minority

The sound system is definately not 3K!!!
However it has been changed since you last played as they now have JBL cabs but still it's nothing near 2k let alone 3k. Besides the point is that it's not about power consumption ratings and more to do with speaker efficiency. The stuff they have is around that of 96db w/m... pretty pants... but you get what you pay for!

With regards to bringing your own kit - I never had any problems in the past?!
Infact I always brought all my OWN amps, cabs, mixer etc...
