ermh... so im just starting and i know those 2 pics probably dnt even stand a chance but just want some feedback and advices as im a neeewbie and would like to get better

This is a good start! You chose a great subject, really interesting, just a shame theres a shadow over her face & that her arm is at a funny angle!

Definitely would look better in a thumbnail if you would have cropped it at the bottom, quite often when you get a front page pic this will be one of the deciding factors weather it will work in continuity with everything else on the front page.

(2592x3757) = untouched shot if you haven't got Photoshop get something like The GNU Image Manipulation Program, GIMP is free and quite easy to use.

canon 400d and i got my flash gun today so wooopey! :)

lol will do thanks :) and u know that funky wire u use when u dnt want ur flashgun to sit still on the camera... is it called sth special or i dunno...
