Download a recent slam DJ mix recorded live at Pressure in Glasgow http://www.slamevents.com/mix.html

Listen to the new slam single azure on http://www.myspace.com/somarecords BACKGROUND Slam need no introduction.

Synonymous with Glasgows underground scene and their sound-searching record label, Soma, the duo have garnered a reputation as international DJs, accomplished recording artists and respected collaborators. With residencies at Fabric(London), Pressure(Glasgow), and the Loft(Barcelona), their schedule regularly takes them to clubs worldwide confirming their status as one of a handful of artists that truly shape their genre. As well as forging their reputation in global electronic dance music with constant and consistent touring, they continue to develop their Soma label, for whom last year was their 15th Anniversary, with new album releases from varied talent, including Alex Smoke, Repeat Repeat, Silicone Soul and My Robot Friend. Currently, from their Glasgow base, they are putting together the eleventh annual Slam Tent with a 15,000 capacity, at the immense T In The Park Festival, while continuing to bring the best and freshest in underground and experimental talent alongside big name performers to the unstoppable Pressure parties at Glasgow's Arches. After remixing for Alex Smoke and Smith & Selway, SLAM are now focusing on finishing their new artist album, planned for release in June 2007. SLAM NEW SINGLE AZURE; RELEASED MARCH 26 Slam make an earth-shattering return with Azure;, the first single from their long-awaited forthcoming album. After over a year since their last single the Slam boys have been taking their time tweeking their work to perfection. Be prepared for an emotional journey with Azure Part 1 will hypnotise you with its positively poignant melodies. The warm strings elate you while the circuit bent beats and tripped out percussive elements jack your body and guide you through its emotive soundscapes. Part 2 is a set-ending burner that builds constantly to a sublime climax. Thrilling you in a constant crescendo of waves this mix is a lustral anthem sure to make you cry. Slams 4th studio album is guaranteed to be huge with DJ support already pouring in from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Francois Kevorkian, Steve Bug and Tom Middleton. Josh Wink - It is gorgeous! Laurent Garnier - This is an absolutely stunning track. I LOVE IT. Cirillo; A very smooth introspective master-piece.

Scottish institution Slam return to their techno roots on their fourth studio album. 'Human Response' arrives at the end of June.

Slam's Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle started out making techno, but most clubgoers will know them from their end-of-night house groover 'Lifetimes' from their second album 'Alien Radio', which blew up on progressive floors, or 'This World' (and its Wighnomy Brothers remix) from their last longplayer 'Year Zero', which even delved into breaks and house.

On their latest effort 'Human Response' the pair go back to their roots with an eleven-track album of Detroit-inspired techno and electronica. The album features vocal collaborations with My Robot Friend, frequent collaborator Dot Allison as well as a new version of 'Looking North', the album taster which popped up on Soma Record's 200th release last year. Lead single 'Azure' is already getting rave reviews and plays from Sven Vath, Carl Craig, Josh Wink and M.A.N.D.Y.

To celebrate the release of 'Human Response', RA is offering a track from the album as an exclusive download to readers – the trippy 'We're not here'. Check it out.

For those Cool housers who have ever experienced a Cool House party at the legendary Coal Exchange you'll know how amazing they've been. In the past we have partied to Danny Howells, Nic Fancuilli, Steve Lawler, Harry Choo Choo Romero and Peace Divison. The Coal Exchage is a fantastic venue with amazing staff who have been very kind to Cool House over the years. To say thanks to you guys who are the main reason the parties have been so awesome will will be hosting a pre party for our Loco Dice/ Slam event. When you arrive there will be free glass of bubbly, and as Bacardi and Jack Daniels are sponsoring the party you will receive loads of free goodies. Also every Cool Houser that attends will receive a free mix cd from one of our residents and one lucky member will find a golden ticket in their cd case which will entitle them to free guest list to every Cool House event for a whole year.
Places are limited for Cool House members and if you would like to attend you will need to purchase your ticket in advance and email me so I can send you a special invite band to gain entry please email me at linsaycoolhouse@hotmail.com if you'ld like to attend.
