Scott Project Interview Ahead of his Exclusive Classix Set @ Bionic October 5th

This article is about BIONIC @ Evolution in Cardiff (UK), Fri 05 Oct 2007

1. Can u remember your first ever gig?

“Yes, my first gig was in a youth club back in 1986. I was so excited I didn’t even watch the crowd, I was just focused on beatmatching and the track selection. After 1 hour, everything was over. Luckily the dancefloor was still busyJ“

2. Any dj's to keep an eye on over the next 12months?

“There are so many good djs and producers out there, Vandall is maybe a guy you should watch out for.“

3. Musically who's your idol and why?

“My idol is the music itself. I listen to so many genres, all kinds of electronic music from house/electro to drum n bass and from trance to techno and sometimes indie. This is my inspiration for nearly everything.“

4. What is your favourite track that you have written and why?

“I dont really have a favouite. I like all of my productions and mostly the more recent tracks or remixes I have done but I guess all producers are the same in this respect. “

5. How has your style changed over the years?

“There is always a progress in music and also in mine. At the moment it is more tech trance orientated but I still try to combine my old school hardtrance sound with new elements to keep my style of producing alive and fresh.“

6. What way do you see the scene

“You should ask me which scene! There are so many genres and scenes out there but in general, the dance music scene seems to be quite healthy for me. Of course you can find some areas where it isn’t that good anymore but with my experience globaly, I see it is still strong.“

7. As bionic was one of the first promoters to book you in the UK and you
have now played there a few times what can you tell us that keeps you coming
back to Bionic ?

“To play at Bionic in the past has always been a pleasure, they are always up for the harder styles and trance sounds.“

8. You have agreed to play a classix set at Bionic which is going to be
totally awesome, we know this is very rare as you like to play future music,
are you excited about this 2 hour classix set?

“I am looking forward to playing a classix set, I dont do it that much and Bionic seems to be the perfect place for it.“

9. Can you tell us 3 tunes that you will definitely be playing in your set?

“I think I can’t avoid to play overdrive, hands up or thunder in paradise.“

10. Can you tell us 3 tunes that are doing it for you at the moment?

“Always my own tunes J. Tocs – 2 – (druckrecords) , Louk – shadow of the beast (kamui remix) (soon on druckrecords) and my stronger daft punk booty.“

11. You have made some special bootlegs recently including versions Marcel
Woods Advanced and Marco V Red Blue Purple, do you have any more of these types of tracks in the pipeline?

“Yes, just finished U2-beautiful day and stronger faster from daft punk. Unfortunately I will just play a classic set at bionic.“

12. Which country is your favourite to play in (apart from Wales obviously)?

“I really enjoy Ireland and Australia all the time but to be honest, I pretty much like to play everywhere, whenever the soundsystem and the crowd is good! Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in Wales.“

Scott Project will head the huge line up at Evolution nightclub, Cardiff on October 5th, which also feature lisa Pin-up, M-Zone, Cally & Juice, Brian M Vs McBunn, Frisky & many more!!!
