Personally i think if u change the name completly u would need to do a hell of lot of promotion to get the new name out there.
Also all these fancy names people are coming up with sound cool but dont mean nothing. I understand the name needs to be changed but It will always be evo for me and im sure 2 alot of other clubbers/djs out there and would be gutted if the name was changed completly.
my suggestions are:

1.EVO-LOVE
2.EVOLOVE
3.EVOLVED
4.REVOLVED
5.EVO4EVA

some nights @ small venues are good i agree but they all aint good because there are a lot of small nights that should not be happening as there too small and too shit and there's way too many now way too many that have diluted the welsh scene big style, bigger is better and that's why evolution was so big for so long as it was big and it was the only place to go every saturday / wednesday and the odd friday, and then smaller nights started happening then diluteing the scene because a lot of people then said hmm shall we travel to cardiff or stay local for a simular ish night but no travel and a lot cheaper they would say, so then less people would travel less often to bigger and better evolution for a smaller simular ish and cheaper night. and with all the way too many smaller nights now all after the crowd evolution cardiff simply couldn't reopen in any form in the forceable future because if you put hard dance back in there it's gunna have to be a massive line up with massive publicity to get the crowds back there and if they put cheese in there it wont work because there's so many other cheese venues in the city centre so why would the cheese heads travel to the bay for the same thing they can get all around cardiff!!?? Evolution cardiff for the forceable future is gone unforcantelly gutted as fuck like ;(

Im not slateing that's why im not gunna mention the names of events that i personally don't see the point of because that's my opinion and im keeping it to myself, but all i will say is what i have said that there's way too many small nights now in wales all after the same crowd and for me they not all but most simply don't work and can't work because there so small and can't afford a proper line up, so they just fill there line ups with unknown's, and yea i know there's a lot of talented unknown's out there, but not everyone want's to see unknown's, which brings me to my next point ie an awesome mixture of headliner's and unkown's works treats @events but were not seeing this as much anymore because there's way too many small nights with small line ups nowadays!!??

gotta say I agree with Valley houser on this one

WHY????????

its totally out of line in my opinion!

1st of all lets get 1 thing clear...my next statement is nothing personal about the event im using it as an example as i know V.H is a die hard follower of this event,

SO PLEASE DONT TAKE OFFENCE!

V.H how do you think the "big" events like Bionic became a "big" event? did they just become successful coz of thier opening night have 1500 clubbers queing outside to get in...of course not!

They started out just the same as 99% of events, in a small venue and prob had a small crowd in for that event..but, they stick to it, keep putting on a better line up than the previous, working their ass's off for the scene and promoting the event as much as possible and have taken well over 5-6 years to become the succesful event that you attend every month.

So why cant other events/promoters have a go at becoming as successful as Bionic, Time flies, etc?

Brian and Co prob thought the same when they started out, thinking "fuck me" i wanna be as big as the events that were massive back then. So they took the risk and it paid off! Us smaller events are living that dream too

i agree with you to a certain extent.. (i'll prob get a bit of abuse for this bit) esp with "pub events"!
This does fuck me off as a promoter in south wales as its such a small area people are reluctant to travel into the city and pay £5-10 entry to an event, when they can pay £1-3 to get into thier "local" (function room upstairs rented for a private party) and watch thier mates dj, get pissed up and then home by midnight ready for thier paper round in the morning.

But this is where a lot of events begin and the promoters are usually dj's themselves, so they get exposure and by booking other dj/promoters from other events, it gives them the chance to return the favour so that they can get sets else where and push themselves in the scene to get noticed.

on the other point that V.H made about unknown dj's

NOT EVERONE WANTS TO SEE COMMERCIAL HEADLINERS!

infact by striving to push unrecognised talented dj's makes your event that extra bit special than the same chav line ups, it gets people interested, people attend these events, spread the word on the net and to mates, who then think "why not go see what all the fuss is about!"
they then have a wicked time and before you know it you got a strong following.

We at Audio try our best to search for dj's that will wow our crowds..we've booked some amazing dj's who are not house hold names such as

BORIS S (Welsh exclusive(worlds leading hard techno dj),
GRADY G (worlds leading hard nrg dj
AUDIO HEDZ (destined for top 5 hard dance status male dj & sought after producers)
CAZ WOOD (destined to push for top 5 hard dance status female dj)
LAB4 (last ever appearance in wales)
RODI STYLE (Welsh exclusive(canada & north america's no 1 hard dance dj, winner of new comer 2008 at HDA & recently signed by Tidy)
BCR BOYZ (Bare cheek records & pioneers of schranz techno in the uk)
ARGY (exclusive AD resident) (closely monitored by Goodgrief & Queen of clubs management (agent for LAB4, PROTEUS, GRADY G, EPHEXIS...need i say any more)
MAXMANIC (bringing a legend back to wales after a 3 year absence)

just to name a few.

its a risk that hasnt always financially rewarded us, but so what..we're diifferent and we dont in any way at all try to take other events crowd away by booking dj's they specialise in just to get numbers in.
The feed back we get from clubbers who are blown away by these dj's they aint seen b4, is more rewarding than booking the same old dj's every other month just to get the £££'s in our pockets.

So Bazza, you need to think if these "small" events were to stop

where would the dj's get there foot in the door, to get their name on the scene?

and

Would you get a bit pissed off paying £15+ (not aimed at any events, just the average cost of evo events recently) to see the same dj's month after month?

also ill finish on this point...

but not everyone want's to see unknown's,

How many years have you listened to Kriss Hill?.................
