My First Visit to: House Heaven Saturdays @ QBar, Greyfriars Rd, Cardiff!

So around 11.00pm (Saturday 24th May 2008), my friend who's a Photographer (nicknamed: “Roving-Eye”) and I made our way to Greyfriars Road, Cardiff (it’s about 5 or so minutes walk from Cardiff’s City Centre, you can’t miss the street, because one of Cardiff’s “tallest buildings” is in the same street!) It wasn’t a problem at all finding The “QBar’s” main door, and that is where we met the first of The “Very-Friendly” Team-Members of “House Heaven”, who where the Venues “Security-Staff”. Hmm, I expected them to say the Classic-Line: “You Can’t Come In” etc: because I certainly did (slightly) Stand-Out, seeing I had my “Bright Yellow, Red, Blue and Green coloured Benetton Bush-Hat” on and of course a “Sweat-Shirt which closely matched my hat with the same bright colours!” LOL! To be totally-honest, the Security-Staff were “Really Nice People!” (Previously I had met Security-Staff of Clubs going way-back in my past who were Enough-Said: LOL!) As stated, the Entrance Fee was £5.00, and that wasn’t a joke, I mean £5.00 from 10pm to 5am!

So we walked into the foyer and the “Roving-Eye” and I had a pleasant chat with a couple of the (female) Team-Members of “House Heaven’s Front-Desk Staff”, we of course paid them the £5.00 each, (without even a 2nd thought).

“What is it going to be like?” I thought (as most people would) as we walked up “The Stairway to Heaven”, we now began to hear the pulsing-beat and the volume become pleasantly louder the further we went up the stairs. “It’s going to be a Damned Good-Night!” was my first impression as we walked into the QBar’s main area feeling the Base-Vibes Slam physically into us; it wasn’t long before I Spotted the DJ who was Having-Fun behind the Decks as he continued Pumping-Out the Wicked-Beats Out!
During the night, (as we’d prearranged) the “Roving-Eye” took all of the Photos, leaving me to do the Spotting and that worked out “Super-Fine!”

Of course the first Team-Members we decided to meet in the club were The Bar-Staff, it wasn’t many seconds until the “Roving-Eye” and I, were chatting with them as we got the Drinks-In! “Very-Good”, both of us agreed as we found out the prices of the drinks were nothing to complain about! (Just like the Flyer we got had stated!)

To say about The Clubbers the “Roving-Eye” and I had and met: What an Amazing, Friendly Crowd of People they were, (and I did thank God, It’s TRUE: there were more Gals than Blokes!) well, we had a good talk, a damned good laugh and what was nice to see there was a fair-few Continental-Clubbers from France in The House! One thing that I could not help but to notice what Good-Vibes I was heard about their evenings, how the House-Heaven & the QBar was definitely going to Make Their Night! Naturally we also had to have a word with the French-Clubbers and the vibes we got from them too, was Extremely-Positive!

During the night, (my other 2-man Team-Member) the “Roving-Eye” and I eventually walked upstairs to the “Chill-Out Areas” of Upper-Level of The QBar. He naturally took more Photographs as I Spotted and talked with more Clubbers and House-Heaven’s Team-Members as we came across them! I loved what we saw of the Chill-Out areas of the Upper-Floor! I couldn’t resist going into “Room 2”: where TESTAMENT Liquid Drum n Bass were kicking out their Drum ‘n’ Base Vibes, noticing The DJ was having-Fun as he kicked out his DEEP-BEATS! WOwww, I though as I nearly lost myself in those: Spine-Tingling Rhythms!

Things were going great so far, but in due course I had to go to the WC in a hurry! (admittedly, not much is heard about those places), but what another kool experience that was, the place was clean, smelt fresh and I met yet another of The House-Heaven’s Team who was a Very-Kool person to talk to as he showed me the Hair-Gel, Soaps and different things that was free to use so that The Clubbers could Freshen-Up! (Hmmm, sorry girls, I can’t make a comment about the Ladies, seeing I didn’t go in there? LOL!)

Having done my natural necessities, I decided to walk further around the Upper-Level of The QBar, noticing the Pool-Tables, and the “Roving-Eye” was still doing his thing taking more Photographs! So I explored the “Chill-Out Area” further, noticing the seating which was kooly-situated under “Mellow-Lighting” and how relaxed the Clubbers sitting there seemed to be!

After spending quite a few minutes in the “Chill-Out Area”, looking down at the Dance-Floor and so on, I decide to go back down to the main area of the QBar. Oh yes, I felt rather Honoured later on as the “Roving-Eye” and I were invited into the Main-Floors: DJ-Booth, so we could have a close-up look at how he Naturally Mixed The VIBES, and of course the “Roving-Eye” took some Shots which a lot of people would never have the opportunity of getting!

As the evening progressed, the TEMPTATION was Too-Hard for me to Resist as the Vibes Pulsed-Out, I could Not-Help-It, I got onto the dance-Floor (LOL!) and that is where The Lasers showed they were worth the House-Heaven’s/QBar’s Investment in them and I had nothing to complain about!
What really Impressed me was when “THE-BEATMAN-DAYMO” came out to: Bang those Thumping Rhythms! Speaking of a Very Awesome Live-Performance he gave-Out! I mean, he performed for around: “3 HOURS” of course he used his Drum-Sticks, but he also drummed with his bare hands as well and he was Using More-Than “ONE SET of Drums!” All of The Clubbers I spoke with (who were Watching and Dancing at the time) agreed with me that “THE-BEATMAN-DAYMO” was Just:- “AWESOME!” (“Let’s be honest, to play the drums for that length of time is Quite-Something to See!”)

As the saying goes: Time did Certainly-FLY, the Evening progressed into Morning (pretty-close to 5am) and I am sorry to say, it was time for “Roving-Eye” and me to go!

After a few-days rest, what can I say about: My First Visit to: House Heaven Saturdays @ QBar, Greyfriars Rd, Cardiff? That was only their 1st Main-Night after Re-Opening, I really N-Joyed it (so did the “Roving-Eye”), all of The Clubbers I spoke to (including the French-Clubbers) N-Joyed themselves! I certainly am going there again to have quite a few more Good-Evenings and I have the feeling: House Heaven @ QBar will carry-on and regain its Good-Reputation of being “One of The Best-Clubs to Visit in Cardiff, The Capital of Wales!” Another thing I have to mention is that: I Had Not Seen Any Fighting Near HOUSE HEAVEN and THAT IS A PLUS!
