The first night was booked at the much-loved Emporium, the best club in Cardiff. Two weeks before the launch disaster struck, and the Emporium shut. After a frantic search, the Red Rooms agreed to a Venue change, and Phil Kieran and Tom Neville kicked off a night that 2 years later has played host to many of House music’s premier Dj’s.

Since it inception Superchunk has showcased the talents of many a top jock including
John Carter, Tom Stephan, FC Kahuna, Pete Heller, Justin Robertson and many more. And as we approach our second anniversary we intend to carry on the tradition by bringing the people of Cardiff more of the same, while putting on the biggest and best parties we can!

With the re-launch at Wish, we have brought back the man who started it all off at our first night in the Red rooms, Phil Kieran. But for our Birthday we invite someone who has never played for Superchunk before, making his Superchunk debut, we welcome Mr Tim Deluxe.

The former Underwater Ibiza resident has not been to Cardiff since he played Stateside a few years back. We thought it was time for him to make another appearance! The Ginger Ninja has had much Critical acclaim with his worldwide smash “It Just Wont Do” but it is for his skills behind the decks that we have invited him to join the Superchunk party.

From his first gig at Ministry of Sound before he was legally allowed to buy drinks from the bar, Tim has been Dj’ing for well over 10 years. On the production front he has been around for almost as long, being part of the production duo “Double 99” producing tracks such as “RIP Groove” and “Freakazoid” and of course as a solo artist with hits such as “Sirens” and “We all love sax” alongside remixes for such artists as Kylie, Layo and Bushwacka and Chus. We simply cannot wait to get the man himself behind the Superchunk decks and let him show us what he can do.

Supporting Tim will be Tommy Rio and Dan Wild from Just Jack promotions in Bristol. Just Jack, set up by Tommy, Dan and Rag in 2005 has slowly been forging a reputation within the Bristol house scene, starting off hosting 2nd rooms for many of Bristol’s cooler nights such as Deepgroove’s Play, they have now moved on to hosting their own parties with guests such as Mike Monday, Buckley and many more. We know they like to party in Bristol so we thought we’d invite them over and show them how it’s done in Cardiff!

To complete the line up Superchunk’s Tiny Twins, Chunk Brothers, and Andy Howells, as well as Salo’s Sean Andrews, will be on hand to get the party started and make sure everything goes off with a bang!

Superchunk, only 2 years ago, just a twinkle in the eyes of a few, now a raging monster ready to make its footprint in the sand, and cement its reputation as one of Cardiff’s elite House nights.
