** Radio 1’s Big Weekend Aftershow to feature SIX HOUR live broadcast** Not one to do things by halves Radio 1 have announced that the official Aftershow to the Big Weekend will be broadcast live on the station for SIX unforgettable hours!! Hosted by Pete Tong and Annie Mac and broadcast from 11pm, listeners will get to hear sets from these two as well as Laurent Garnier, Simian Mobile Disco and ClubClass resident Nic Fanciulli until 5am. In short this night will unquestionably go down as the biggest dance event Kent has EVER witnessed!!

** Electro-Voice to install “mammoth” soundsystem for Radio 1’s Big Weekend Aftershow**
The role of providing and installing the mammoth soundsystem needed for a venue the size of Studio 5 has been given to Electro-Voice. For over eighty years EV have been behind some of the most significant innovations in the history of sound reinforcement and continue to push the sonic envelope into the 21st century. For Radio 1’s Big Weekend Aftershow over 30K worth of world class sound will be installed as EV continue to push the boundaries that has been witnessed at some of their other events including The Brits and Live Aid.

** Radio 1’s Big Weekend Aftershow- The vital information**
Unlike Radio 1’s Big Weekend, the Official Aftershow is a STRICTLY over 18’s event. If you are fortunate to look under 21 please bring valid photographic ID with you such as your passport or driving licence. Doors open 10pm with alcohol served throughout the event including a fine selection of spirits, beer and wine available for your consumption.

Maidstone TV Studios is located on the outskirts of the town and not in the town centre. For all those of you traveling by car please use the parking available at the nearby Tescos in Grove Green (directions below). For all those traveling by foot there will be a designated taxi pick up on site following the event. There will also be an on-site cash point and a snack bar selling hot food and drinks. Finally please note that strobe lighting will be in operation at this event.

TRAVEL DETAILS:Maidstone TV studios is located just 1 mile from Maidstone town centre and is easily accessible from major towns such as Ashford, Chatham and Sittingbourne all of which are around a 20 minute drive away. Maidstone TV studios offers easy access to both the A249 and M20 both of which are less than a mile away from site. The local train stations are Maidstone East, Maidstone West and Bearsted which are easily accessed via London Victoria, Waterloo and Charing Cross.

ROAD:
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO ON-SITE PARKING AVAILABLE AT MAIDSTONE TV STUDIOS. PLEASE USE TESCO GROVE GREEN.If you are travelling by road, there is ample parking available at the nearby Tesco. Take the M20 towards Maidstone and come off at Junction 7. At the first roundabout take the third exit signposted Maidstone-Bearsted. Stay in the left hand lane and at the next roundabout take the first exit on the left. Go past Notcutts Garden centre and at the next roundabout take the third exit. Go up the hill and take the first exit left on the next roundabout before following the road to Tescos which is on the right. Park car and walk towards the studios. The address for Tescos is Tesco Grove Green, Weavering, Maidstone, ME14 5TQ.

RAIL:There are taxi ranks at Bearsted and Maidstone East, which can be reached via London Victoria and Ashford International (for a full timetable of connecting trains visit www.setrains.co.uk). Trains run from London Victoria, Waterloo and Charing Cross and Ashford International to Bearsted and Maidstone East roughly every half hour. If travelling on the Eurostar, there is a frequent train service between Ashford International and Maidstone East. For timetable visit www.eurostar.com.
