got to love the fabric............i am there on the 27th, going to be hot. The problem with clemsford they get little boys to dj. Where the big Dj go, all the people go(this is life), Dukes is a nice place to go for a ok night, have a drink and maybe get a kick in the head lol. Been there many of a time!!! Clemsford is crying out for a big club, it has the people to go!!!

its kinda different here in bas as you got choice of 4 clubs aswell as few bar

dannyboy your rite for edwards and yates they are just as good as dukes and there drinks are cheaper so that also helps!
staff are alot nicer ok dukes hire on goodlooking staff but no offence some are thick as shit!

only replyin a few months later lol but u r rite with that n i been bas a few times now was over in festival de other week on monday nite was lovin the buy 1 get 2 free in jaks n it good cos more of a choice for clubs in chelmsford doesnt seem that much of a choice to me but had a good time last time i was up there but alsong as find de place ur in alrite n with the right ppl have a good night anyway dont ya

well me is going dukes for me birthday on a cheesy thursday aint been there for over a yr and im getting tad fed up with basvegas as i think thats going down hill a tad!
everyone on here is saying the club is crap but will be honest i do miss the music!
as for the buy one get two free that is a bonus for bas but thats the only thing that it seems to have going for its self at the mo!!
so no matter what ive said on here in the past if its a good night when i go for me birthday i will be going back on the odd friday as miss the garage nights...

2nd saturday of the month the bay has a few djs playing i forget there name(will find out) they are shit hot.only thing is it's full of grungers.

All we need here is a venue that will allow underground nights to be held there. It doesn't have to have a 6am license, that's not important.

I'm a chelmsford lad, have been all my life, i tried to host a hardcore event here and go told a straight 'no' by all the clubs. Why? because it has a reputation of being 'Druggies' music.

These clubs are very naive if they think people aren't taking drugs in them now, and people like me who love rave music and dont take drugs are missing out.
it's forced me to have to take my event to Bury St Edmunds, i didnt want to, but i had no choice. Essex as a whole isn't good for underground music, simply because of lack of venues.

We've all heard about this so called new 'super club' that's opening in Chelmsford, so i shall see what happens there.

yeah but they probably aren't as bothered about ppl taking coke or weed - they just don't want ppl dropping pills in their clubs - don't forget Leah Betts was from nearby & it mite have been ages ago now no club is going to want a repeat of that publicity.

As for a 'super club' in Chelmsford i think it'll just be taken over by the same sort of commercial crap - there's just so much money to be made from beer-boys

Yeah i can see it being a one room 500 capacity place rather than a multi arena 2000 capacity super club lol.

We shall see though, and i shall carry on in my mission to put on a decent event in Chelmsford.

That statement may have been true when Dukes had its re-design 8 yeards ago but not now!!!

there's also a difference in terms of a club being 'good' as in the Venue itself is nice

& the club being 'good' as in; has a good atmosphere, friendly staff, good music policy - which Dukes certainly has none of!
