Whats Southampton like for night life? Have amate at uni down that way but he seems to come to London alot still!!

Do you have any Essex Friends on DSI?

Southampton's pretty good at the mo, depends what you're in to. Regular nights down here include Formula, Housexy and Hed Kandi. Tim Sheridan is down here in April too. Then there's a great venue called Junk which hosts Illicit Audio nights, and other artists like Roy Ayers! There's always load going on in Bournemouth too, so I'd say it's pretty varied.

Got some essex buds, will invite them to the group!

Nice to hear that, we have been working hard to try to rid Chelmsford of Cheese but they keep packing them into Reds and Such.

Also looking at starting a social of people that like to go out in Londona nd arrange for peopel to travel up together.

Just pop on here and let us know when you're about!

Whats Leicester scene like?

I saw that Reds had applied for a licence to open 7pm-6am - that must be what it's like in hell!

The london thing sounds like a good idea.

Leicester's pretty good, there's a big house scene, if you're ever in leicester check out Original Four on a Sat - it's the best night for house i've ever been to! also got the Emporium with Passion not far away which is good. The breaks scene is just starting to develop here too.

I sentence you to an eternity in reds! Noooooooooooooooo!!!

Hear that Bar7 was pretty good on sunday Copsey? Could this be the thin end of a glorious wedge of decent music finally being hammered into chelmsford??

Am in San Francisco at the moment and the music is terrible- 'sexy' R&B and hiphop as far as the eye can see!! Reds is starting to sound like heaven in comparison...

Definately a good idea Chris about Essex people hitting London! Like minded people are always a must! To be honest, at home most people I know thrive on the cheese - for shame.

Hahahaha @ reds applying for a 6a.m licence! Now that is a stupid idea.

ROB!!! You're meant to be on holiday, not on DSI!!! You muppet! How's the US of A?! Bar7 was very good babe. Rich was playing some good old funky house! Was good to hear tunes from the likes of MAW in chelmsford, and to also see some familiar faces! Hmm tho I think the idea of house may take more time for Chelmsford folk... Speaking of MAW, keep May 27th free for Canvas, check this link out when you get five.

Have fun on your road trip, stay out of trouble and get on the scotch! Ron Burgundy styleƩ!
"I love scotch, scotchy scotchy scotchy scotch! Here it goes down, down into my belly, hmmm mmm mmmm.."

a house night in chelmsford? was getting sick of waiting so decided to start up my own night called groove at bar 7 seven on a sunday night. like you say it is at the moment a small wedge but one that will grow and grow and thats where people like us come in, the likes of the bar are closing down, decadence is full of yardie gangstar types and reds, well its reds. lets start small and lets get bigger, myself and a lot of other well respected djs from chelmsford are at the start of a very up hill struggle, but we shall conquer the mountain with time. guys get in touch if you dj, pm me, would love to have you down on one of my nights, as long as you press all the right buttons, and if you dont dj and just prefer to sit back, chill and enjoy the quality sound dont be afraid to pop your head into bar 7 seven on a sunday and say hello. nic thanks for your kind comments, was wicked to see you again, where have you been on these cold long winter nights. next time leave the car/tank at home and party like only chelmsford knows how to or at least a select few of us anyway. i know your back soon so no doubt i will catch you around and prehaps at long last that trip into the big smoke for that ever evading night out. as for trips to london as a whole community thing, we are there all ready, 2funk and friends run coaches up to london on a monthly basis djing with promoters such as pukka up, smartie party, rhythm at work and the one and only 2funkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. my good friend disco is djing in the bar at ministry on saturday night with the likes of xpress2. whoaaa what a night and the afterparty is split evenly on sunday with 2funk at the bar 7pm - 1030pm and groove at bar 7 seven 8pm -1am. if anyone is interested discounted tickets for ministry on sat night pm me if not hope to see you sunday. take care chelmsford have a great weekend. peace. x

Ah sounds like more people are giving good music a chance in Chelmsford as i know other DJs who have been doing this for a while . Have never been to bar 7 as i heard it was strictly over 25s and small, but if the music is good i will def give it a look on sunday.

its not over 25s, normally on a friday saturday night it is over 21s and smart dress but sundays are a lot more flexible, as long as your 18+ its cool and trainers, jeans etc are not a problem, strictly no chav wear. it has a capacity of 130 on two floors which creates a really warm and intimate party vibe which is proving to be very very special. its not as expensive as london but is more expensive than the ivory peg, but the brands are all premium, service is good and the environment nice. 3 4 2 offer between 7pm and 9pm on bottled and draught beer, house spirits and house wines and the manager is always very accomodating with special offers, would be great to see you sunday. take care
