Music : Electro House, Soulful House, Progressive House, Trance, Electro and Breaks
Break Out, Cheltenham’s biggest house and electro night makes a welcome return to Dakota on 23rd January. For our first party of 2009 we are holding our first ever DJ competition - with the winner guaranteed a run of four sets at Break Out events over the coming year! Whether you have experience of playing at private parties/in bars/or just rocking your bedroom – we want to hear from you! As you know Break Out’s music policy is a mash-up of Breaks, Electro, House and Tech Trance, so as long as your mix fits one (or spans several) of these genres, we will be roadtesting it full blast at Break Out HQ! A shortlist of 4 DJs will then be playing in the final on 23rd January at the start of the event, with the finalists being judged on enthusiasm, mixing capability and crowd reaction!
Following these exciting heats, we crack on with our first Break Out of 2009 and welcome back SiyTek Live to the fold. We have featured SiyTek Live on many occasions at Break Out and his live drumming, keytar playing, frequency-freakin’, vocoded craziness never fails to wow the dancefloor. Coupled with his original tunes and remixes, his first live performance of 2009 promises to be very special indeed! Following his fantastic sets at Break Out in 2008, we have asked Ash Scott to join our stable of Break Out residents – welcome to the family Ash, we can’t wait for your first filth-laden set of 2009. Break Out residents Lizzie Curious, Simon Pisani and D|Neilands are all primed and ready to deliver a barrage of banging, dirty house tunes whilst Solano (who has just bagged himself a residency with Classique) will be closing the night on a high - with some uplifting, pumping tech trance.
We have to say that 2008 was a phenomenal year for Break Out but the biggest shout out must go out to you…our loyal party people! You are what our party is all about and it’s always reflected in the photos of smiling people havin’ it on the dancefloor Newcomers to Break Out always remark on how friendly everyone is and from a DJ’s point of view, it’s great to always see the dancefloor so busy from start to finish with such a lively, up for it crowd! We look forward to another year of show-stopping events – thanks for your continued support, we couldn’t do it without you!
Break Out DJ competition closes 15th January. Contact Dave Neilands or Simon Pisani with your online mix or to send us your mix CD. Judges decision on the finalists and winners is final.
