Leeroy Thornhill (ex-Prodigy)

Leeroy Thornhill is a British electronic music artist and formerly a dancer and occasional live keyboardist of the British rave act The Prodigy. He was born in Barking, Essex but raised in Braintree and grew up as a football and James Brown fan. Leeroy joined The Prodigy along with Keith Flint after they met Liam Howlett at a local rave club. Both were dancers for the band's live show which became huge in the rave scene. Leeroy's style of dance can be described as a 'technical running on the spot'. In 2000 Leeroy left the band as he felt he had very little to do in live shows as fellow dancer Keith Flint took to the mic on live shows and the music became more band oriented. Leeroy went on to make various EPs under the guises of Longman and Flightcrank, however these projects never saw any substantial successes. Leeroy now DJs at large venues and is still in touch with The Prodigy. Leeroy has also been rumoured to be DJing to warm up crowds before Prodigy shows. He also works as regular DJ and rocks the crowds with livemixed Prodigy classics.

Leeroy will be live in the main club with support from Resident DJ Cool Cut C and also in the Bongo Bar DJ Darren Price Playing UpFront House & House Classics.

Why do subtone not book DJ's such as Dave Spoon, D Ramirez, Mark Knight, Chris Lake, Shapeshifters, Trophy Twins, Will Bailey, Micky slim, etc, etc? Would love to see these guys play in Cheltenham. Subtone seems to be the only place in Cheltenham for house music yet it seems to be the same big DJ's being booked over and over again?

i agree with you russ but to be honest i went there for the first time on saturday and loved it, some proper filthy breaks and banging house. would love to see micky slim there tho(or anywhere near here to be honest HINT HINT!!!!!!!!)

i personally prefer the local nights in glos and chelt like paranoid and breakout where the djs know their crowd and what they like where visitors sometimes (more rather than less) are very hit and miss.

it is not that subtone is a bad club just that it is not in a big city like bristol, glasgow or birmingham therefore upfront djs will charge what our clubs simply cannot afford at this moment in time.

goodluck with this one subtone and look forward to seeing some bigger names around here

I go there quite a bit. Probably a couple of times a month. Music is good on Saturdays, the residents are very good but i don't understand why they book the Freemasons twice in 6 months when DJ's such as Micky Slim, DRamirez and Mark Knight cost less then half their fee....

Big respect to Subtone though for being the only club to run a decent house night in this area!

P.S. I'll put my money where my mouth is if you're up for it Subtone! Lol

If you want me to promote a Friday with some underground house DJ's email me: russ@ransompromotions.com and maybe we could have a chat!
