*relish* does it again!
Every once in a while being a little bit pessimistic can be a good thing. Why you might ask? Well sometimes if you take a 'glass half empty' attitude towards things every now and then you can find yourself pleasantly surprised and your cup will runneth over! What am I going on about? well.............As I walked into the venue for the second night run by the *relish* crew I was conscious of the fact that it was being held on a Friday night coming off the back of what would have been a huge August Bank Holiday for most people the previous weekend. Now the quality of the night in my mind was never in question, however, would there still be the same wicked vibe, buzz and energy that had blown everybody away at the first time of asking. Well needless to say after Friday night I am now well and truly back in the 'glass half full' camp!...........Now where's the bar?

MAIN ROOM:
To kick things off we had the pleasure of Matt James on the decks. An absolutely perfect start to the night playing some excellent house. Not a full room at this point but people were coming in at a steady rate and making good use of the comfy sofa's dotted around, getting the drinks in and chatting. Matt warmed us up nicely and I have to say set the mood perfectly.....Bravo!

Next up was the Uber talented Starlet, who not wanting to retain the chilled relaxed atmosphere for too long started to lay down some tough house tunage, moving through to melodic proggy trance, by this point the dancefloor was beginning to pick up, tunes such as Tiefschwarz remix of Goldfrapp's Oh La La, Larry Mountains 54 (on Anjuna Deep) and Carrie Skipper's Time Goes by had everyone on the dancefloor!…….A nicely full room by this point full of the friendly smiley people that I had been looking forward to seeing. Now we had a party on our hands for sure, Starlets energy behind the decks as always is just so infectious!

Everybody then got stuck in to Swenly’s set playing trance classics and feel good uplifting trance. Hands in the air all round. Cheers from the crowd and all sorts of madness when Swenly and Starlet played back to back, with tunes such as OceanLab Satellite had everyone singing along!…………A truly superlative effort fantastic job guys!

Tink, one of Cheltenham's most established hard DJs finished off the night and well and truly kept the crowd going with tough uplifting hard tracks and seamless mixing……..loved every minute!

BREAKS ROOM:
It was rammed!! Great opening set from Combat Cooke, then Matt James played his second set of the night at *relish*, ramming the room with breaks lovers, then Hub resident DJ Andy Stevens played, finished up by Cheltenham's legendary Just-In.

Well what can I say *relish* did it for me again!…………….I take my hat off to a night that is really making an effort to do something a little bit different and not just another Friday night party. Where else can you walk into a relaxed ‘cocktail party’ like atmosphere at the start of the night, listen to some excellent tunes, as you get drunker the music gets funkier and harder and then when your truly feeling like going mad and crazy…….so do the tunes and so does everybody else!

I think its fair to say that this event is quite unique for Cheltenham and deserves all the biggin up and support it can get! Don’t miss 30th September for the next dollop of *relish*………………..GET IN!
