My opinion on Destination Hardcore event 2
Friday the 6th June saw Destination Hardcore touch at the Sanctuary once again for their new monthly event, featuring headlining artists' DJ CRUZE and MC Friction.

First up on the decks was DEGED playing upfront anthems such as 'Get Away', 'What a great drug' and 'Paradise & Dreams'. The set went well, and really got people in mood although no-one except for the performing DJ's and MC's was really in the Sanctuary at this early point of night which was slightly dissapointing.

DJ FONZ was on the decks next (9-10) with fellow DJ MR HARVEY, having seen them play before at DH i knew the set promised to be good. And i wasn't wrong. Fonz did a little bit of scratching and played alot of uplifting tracks such as 'Devotion', and 'show me the sunshine'. Again the venue was still not as busy as expected although was definately warming up with CRUZE and FRICTION set to play at 10.

So CRUZE with his debut at DH played bang on 10 with Friction on the mic. The dancefloor all of a sudden became packed, and there was a real good vibe from then on between all the ravers in the Sanctuary. CRUZE absolutely smashed it, he played a really good set, and FRICTION kept the crowd engaged throughout, keepin the crowd rockin with his quality lyrics. CRUZE finished a little late than expected due to CONWAY being a few minutes late, but it was all good as everyone was loving it.

So CONWAY began just after 11, and again like all the other artists before played a quality set. CONWAY played alot of upfront Raverbaby and aatw anthems such as 'like i feel', 'doesn't matter' and 'Angel'. He managed it really well and finished off a bit darker as Darkside and Korrupt were set to play at midnight.
As i wondered outside i noticed that people were still heading through the door which was promising considering how dead it was to begin with.

DARKSIDE and KORRUPT played the midnight set, starting off with a bit of old skool- playing tracks such as 'now is the time' and then going a bit darker and harder taking everyone through to satuarday morning. Darkside kept everyone entertained with his quality scratching ability-everyone was still buzzing in the venue and got everyone in the mood for the last hour

So me and LUKAS got on the decks for the last hour with MC's THUNDA and SMEE. We started off with 'Pretty rave girl' then carrying on with alot of happy bounce tracks such as 'keep the crowd jumpin', 'only for you' and 'your not alone'. SMEE and THUNDA kept everone sustained with both old and fresh lyrics, although towards the end of the night the crowd was wearing thin. We finished off the night with Insight's 'only you love'.

All in all the night was a success- to see CRUZE and FRICTION down at DH was unbelievable, the only problem was that there were not as many people in the venue as expected. This was most definately down to poor, last minute advertising on our behalf and will be totally sorted out for event 3 in July. As long as the advertising is corrected, I feel that Destination Hardcore has really got the potential to do something big for the Hardcore scene in Stafforshire, the atmosphere ( even though it wasnt packed) was spot on and everyone was enjoying themselves despite this. So thanks to all that attended and see you at event 3 !

Massive shouts to DJ Cruze and Friction, richard, james, terry, smee, thunda, fonz, mr Harvey, conway, deano, korrupt, lukas, deged and to all the swaddie ravers and everone else that attended.

Thankyou

Craig-Masters.
