The HardCandy Launch night is all set & raring to go at Time Nightclub in Derby on 10th May. Sweet FX, better known as Andy Newton & Shane Rumney are the leading guys behind HardCandy.
How long have you two known each other & how long have you been playing together as Sweet FX?
Shane & Andy – Well we have known each other for over 6 years as best friends, in that time we have played various gigs together and as solo artists. We live to entertain and love to be entertained!
If you weren’t DJing together who else would you both most like to do a back to back with?
Shane – Eddie Halliwell, an awesome and inspiring Dj
Andy - K90’s energy behind the decks has always been a complete inspiration

So what have you got in store for us at the HardCandy launch night?
The launch night of HardCandy will see some of the Hard dance scenes biggest names descend on Time nightclub Derby along with stilt walkers, fire breathers, angle grinders and above all else the general public supporting an excellent cause and a recognised future dance music brand.
You’re doing the launch in aid of Children Today, what made you choose that charity?
Andy had once been a guardian of a disabled child, he came across children today whilst working for his old company and immediately hit it off with the Charity director and in the blink of an eye decided he wanted to help the organisation.
So it’s almost Summertime, what have you both got planned?
Summertime is always a time for partying and HardCandy is no different! We plan to bring to the UK something different and unique in order to give you guys what the club scene has been lacking for so long - FUN & ENERGY!
If you could have anyone dead or alive come back to an after-party with you who would it be?
Shane – Andy, he is definitely my partner in after party antics. A party would never be the same without him.
Andy – Shane I suppose although it seems ironic except that perhaps if I was to say somebody else we may not get on as well. I do know though whenever Shaney is not around the session is never the same!
And what rubbish would you talk about with them?
To be honest, anything goes in our after party mayhem. Laughs and utter rubbish comes as standard with us pair.
What’s your favourite candy?
Shane – Skittles/ Tutti Fruities
Andy – Maltesers/ Minstrels
And finally, what have you got planned for HardCandy in the future?
What haven’t we got planned! HardCandy is definitely here to stay and line ups will get bigger and better across all genres of dance music. Keep your eyes peeled in August for a trance explosion and perhaps taking the brand abroad to Europe and beyond.
Thanks for the interview, Peace, Love and live life to the maximum…Sweet Fx
