WOW!

What an AMAZING night it was at TONK @ FUNKTION ROOMS - EASTBOURNE on Sat 22nd!

For the first time, TONK hit Eastbourne after hammering Hastings for 9 months during 2007...and what an introduction it was!

There was a very tangible feel of anticipation and excitement as we neared 10pm and opening time - the queues outside were growing rapidly and stretched miles down the street. The ravers were not put off by the baltic conditions and it all looked extremely promising.

Hosting the intimate basement room known as THE SUB CLUB, TEAM TONK bought their very own brand of hard, fast, uplifting hard dance and of course the loyal TEAM TONK members who always make their presence felt and know how to create the most electric of atmospheres. Every last detail went like clockwork and the vibe in the room from start to finish was sooooo positive it was a pleasure just to experience it.

The room was looking great too, with the camo netting dropping the ceiling lower and adding to the intimacy, the stunning lighting effects pumping out random shapes and colours all night, increasing the energy...and of course, the FUNKTION 1 soundsystem rumbled and thumped like no other i ever heard - genius!

There were a number of outstanding performances during the night and everyone appreciated the skills on display:

The party kicked off with a 60 minute B2B with myself and Nik S, pushing chunky funky hard house and warming the room nicely - at this stage there appeared to be a large number of ravers already inside and putting themselves about on the dance floor...it was heating up!

Then ANDY JAMES took to the decks at 11pm and smashed the granny outta the place from first track to last! ANDY played the kinda set that you only hear about in legend and well and truely stamped his mark on the TONK fans! Keep em peeled for a return from Mr JAMES in the near future people!!

I followed ANDY at 12 midnight and picked up the pace a little with some driving hard trance, cuts, tricks and FX.

NIK S followed on at 1am and continued the pacey hard trance with spot on mixing and tricks of his own.

Then came MARK H at 2am - MARK is a firm TONK favourite and he delivered his finest set yet to an ever expectant crowd - MARK dropped a number of his own tracks that tore the roof off!! It's fair to say that any hard dance dj would KILL to have half the talent MARK has and also a copy of his tracks (THE BASS IS LOOKING GOOD, ATTENTION X, EVERY HEART BEAT hint hint MARK...hint hint mate ;-))

And so, following MARK at 3am was the main man, BK!! he played like a man possessed, with the kind of grace and poise that you normally see from a great composer! The guy is a genius, no question!! BK smashed the place to pieces, dropping bomb after bomb...hard chunky hard house tracks, some produced by himself, some from others. BK raised the bar into orbit with a sound that sent chills down the spine and shook every clubber in the place to the core! To be honest, im still shaking a touch now, over 24 hours later! SIMPLY AMAZING!

and so there it is...TONK's finest hour so far! Do not fret hard dance fans, as there is more to come!

I can only say the same as everyone else - The TONK crew know how to throw a wicked party! everything was spot on from the venue to the dj's and the tunes being played.

Thanks for the mention Joe, and for both you and Nik including some of my tracks in your sets... Am looking forward to the next party and Djing with you guys!

Rubbish excuse Danny! Im pregnant and still raved my arse off! Anyone who missed out on this Tonk should be forever regretting it! As far as Im concerned Tonk@Funk rooms was as good for me as watching Technikal play at Nightshift in October (and thats a HUGE compliment!)

This was my fisrt TONK but def won't be my last..... I had a completely fab night, and it was good too meet all the team...
