Subject
poor ticket sales - poor technical support
Poor ticket sales meant the venue had maybe 2-300 people in th main room (if that).... Jo Mills set was plagued with power cut outs, at least 5 that I counted, and then Oakie had a few cutouts until they decided to change the cables.... this was taking ages, so I suggested they just move everyone to Room 2, wich was completely empty. Everyone thought this wa a good idea, as ther was not enough audience to fill that room either.... However, they persisted in spending 25 minutes changing the cables, so we only got about an hour of Oakie... Blinding set, and he looked to be enjoying it. Just a shame about the empty venue and power issues.
The venue also wasn't 'dressed' in any way, was a really poor show. I suspect M8 lost a fortune last night!

Best £20 i have ever spent in my life!

Ok it was a bit of a shambles but Oakie more than made up for it - he coulda walked, loads of other DJ's would have. But he stayed, played a blinding set & then spend half an hour talking to fans - me included. The guy was so nice to us & i have loads of memories that i will treasure.

I think the way it worked out in the end meant true Oakie fans got something a little special. Something you just coulden't put money on!

You know what man, its not all about tickets sales & fucking decor. Its the journey, the work up, the way he played the crowd. The guy coulda walked - he never - he connected with an appreciative crowd. So what if i paid £20! It was my money, not yours, not your night so just leave it and stop criticising a night you clearly weren't at.

You missed out on something mate that not too many people get to experience in their lifetime. And your just a fucking child calling paul names, dinnae see your name on a poster below the worlds greatest ever DJ.

Trot on boyo!

Paul - what a night, thanks for the banter! Will see you at the next absolute! Say hey to Lou for me, she a cracking girl! Don't suppose you have spare Legends poater at all? I'm dying for one but canne get one anywhere!

He looks like Pete Tong after a serious bout of depression in which he loses interest in dance music, has a mcdonalds for his breakfast, 3 curries for dinner, hundreds of pepperamis, donner kebabs, few pies and a cuppasoup every day then gets whacked 1 full pelt wi a cricket bat right in the napper

p.s. BACK FROM MAGAAAAAAAAAA, fuckin love ma own bed
He's actually not fat in real life. He's just not necking 40 pills a night anymore, AND he is 45 next week you know, he's not exactly 21 anymore. It happens to us all, its called contentment.

And anyway Carl cox is a fat bastard but i dinnae see anyone slagging him off!

Aye Tiesto is prob quite pretty to look at but he def does not have the charisma Oakie has, its not a bloody beauty contest. Think we are losing the view a bit here. Its about the music.

EACH TO THEIR OWN

LOL

He played few Goa mixes, U2 can't live with or without you, silence, grace, cafe del mar etc.

It was quite a commercial set but you know its what we wanted to hear! He worked the crowd amazingly, especially since there were only 200+ people in. But every single person was up for it so i'm pleased!

Nice guy, very genuine.

I suspect M8 lost a fortune last night!

I wouldn't want to be the one who was in charge of overseeing the PR, thats for sure.

To be fair though i prefer nights when it's not rammed to the rafters and you can have a bit banter with mates than being squashed up to some guy/girls back, arse and flying elbows for the night.

How was Huggy & Deans sets??
