Subject
rip off- antiworld cancelled by them not council
(taken from 070707 forum)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For some this may come as a total shock and for others just an expectation!

I would like to say that I really enjoyed the rave, the gear I had was exceptional, the ppl were really cool, girls were fit, sun was out and the music IMO was really good and got me totally smashed!

So anyways here is want you really need and probably want to know:

Ticket sales were extremely bad, infact I know that if Antiworld didnt sell nearly 10k tickets they would make a loss! Only 5000 ppl ever bought admission tickets and Enrico (MD of Antiworld-the boss basically) knew that he stood to lose over £50k, and being a b@stard business man he decided to simply cancel the rave, with underhand tactics! Understandable from a business stand-point, but certainly p1ssed of pleanty of ppl.

You may read ridiculous stories about an explosion with sewage and other various guesses and what the real 'truth' actually is, but I am one of very few who know the REAL TRUTH!

Now comes the interesting part! This information was obtained by a very close person in Enricos' team who has now resigned over this fiasco!
The police were apparently called about a rave that had broken the rules agreed on their land permits, and so the coucil got a closure order!

I think that going to this rave was one of the best decisions of my life, I had a great time and lets face it, I dont think that Antiworld will recover from this total scandal!

Peace and love to all the ravers out there and God Bless You for being such a great bunch of happy people!

I was there Friday and Saturday and it was pretty wicked.

The people make the occasion and everyone there were definately up for it.

Weather was great and all in all I had a great time. I don't think i'd be this happy if i'd of payed though ;o)

@ paul, the official reason was that the sewage lorry that came round this morning dumped all the stuff down the nearest manhole it could find, which then flooded. the environmental agency had been waiting for a reason to shut it down and so they did...

the photos are from the previous 2 days i think you'll find!

Antiworld was not cancelled - some idicotic cunt who was in control of cleaning the portaloos and taking the waste away decided to do a half ass job and pumped it back into the river/stream nearby contatimating the whole festival and creating an environmental issue. At the point the medics realised this they fucked off and by law any festival with no medics will be shut down.

Why would the Police have been wandering around the site if the organisor cancelled it thierself.

That doesn't explain half the stages being cancelled at a day's notice.

At the point the medics realised this they fucked off

I thought it was "at the point they realised nobody was going to pay them they fucked off"?

Why would the Police have been wandering around the site if the organisor cancelled it thierself.

Well, how would you suggest getting 5000 pissed off festival goers off your land in the middle of a 3 day bender?

My mate was supposed to be playing on the Sunday, and last week he was saying he wasn't sure if it had been cancelled... on Friday, when they found out antiworld had only sold 3000 tickets, they demanded payment or there would be a 'no show' from their label... anyhow, they didn't pay up...

i thought the cancelation had something to do with not being
able to pay the artists
i dont think the event was advertised enough and all that secret
location rubbish didnt help

We were planning to come down on Sunday coz we live really close to Rushmoor Arena. We'd just called a taxi to get down there then they phoned us back and said the fesival had been closed coz of sewage problems. I was really gutted coz I was so up for it!
Hope you all had a wikid 2 days first though!

The council were on his case from day one, i was told that the council closed the event down, nothing to do with the organisers, but of course all of the above is just rumours....
the council were looking for a reason

DJ's, stages ect were NOT cancelled - a lot of them pulled out themselves because of the weather though unfortuantly that was a bad move on their part as the weather was fucking gorgous from friday morning onwards.
I was crew for the weekend and i was meant to be performing myself on the sunday when in the middle of getting ready we were told the site had been closed down due to the sewage problem.

I'm gonna start off by saying....my boyfriend and i paid £100 a ticket to be at Antiworld and were really looking forward to it. Just take a look at the line up that we were promised and we only found out that not only were there just 4 arena's there, but hardly any performers were there! We didn't know from one minute to the next who and what was going on and if you asked one of the few marshalls around, you'd get a shitty response.
By Saturday and after having only seeing a'few' breaks acts (some of which are unpaid friends of ours) we were starting to wonder if there was actually gonna be anything else live!! Later in the evening by around 9pm, we were hunting for, basically something that was maybe even written on their stupid paper hang ups, that also changed around. Finally we settled for the live stage..beautiful setting, sun going down and the music was ok to start with, but became extremely repetitive after what looked like an over stretched performance by someone who expected to play around an hour and was on stage for over 3! And on the paper line up, it was supposed to be Matt Darey. Bit of a head fuck as the tune that made him famous sounded like it was being recreated every 5 minutes by 'Infected Mushroom' ...which seemed like THE only live act there to be honest.

It didn't take us long to work out that DJ sets were beind repeated on all stages for the whole weekend and yes, we asked a hell of a lot of people about this and the only excuse you get is ''ran out of dj's''. Which translated, means that from 10pm Sat, DJ sets were repeated, every hour for the rest of the period that music was available. It seems from 'at least' 9pm there wer e only 3 DJ's to cover the whole festival until 2pm Sun, which is when they stopped the music.
The music then restarted a few hours later and guess what?! It was exactly the same set, as played at least 7 times in each arena. We know this is the case and checked the decks periodically and with several people to find that the DJ who was there on previous checks....was still there!!

And that's just the beginning.....wrth £100...i think not??!! And anyone who says they had a wicked time..well....

i just went down for the saturday, i enjoyed myself but the music
in all arenas wernt loud enough especially the pendragon arena,
and i noticed that a few of the times they were playing recordings
of the sets that were done, mainly in the big blue tent
