Music : House and Techno

Pulse & Red Eye proudly welcomes to Glasgow’s Soundhaus, the gifted Naples born DJ/Producer Danilo Vigorito for an exclusive Scottish date.

With support coming from the talents of Red Eye’s Commodore and The Alchemist, Pulse’s James Gray, and girl thingy Power’s Jason, who offer a unique line-up ranging from minimal techno, jacked up beats and funky grooves. Giovanni Ferri brings his own twist to the house room along with C.O.F. (Michael Patterson & Ken Ferguson) & Pulse’s Bob McG. This collaboration is the first of its kind at The Soundhaus, but without a doubt is set to cause much stir in Glasgow’s dance scene.

Pulse & Red Eye also welcomes Jon Mancini who’ll be heading the line up in the house room. Mancini needs no introduction, especially north of the border. He is a founding resident for Colours as well as appearing at all the major UK Clubs and European hot spots. Jon’s reputation for a smooth, seductive blend of silky garage and pumped up house has consistently drawn praise from all quarters. Furthermore, Jon Mancini has been an active radio DJ on Clyde1FM as well as producing mixes for Danny Rampling’s Love Groove Dance Party on Radio1. This will be a real treat for all the house lovers!

The rise of Danilo Vigorito has been nothing short of amazing. His Neapolitan sound is phat and crunchy, combining funk with the hard stuff making his style of techno just about as perfect as it can be. Receiving support from all the scene’s biggest players like Marco Carola and Gaetano Parisio, he gives his own flavour to the Napoli sound.

However, Danilo is not only a master of the turntables, he’s proven to be very versatile as a producer releasing records for important labels such as Zenit, Speaker Attack, Informale Records, Primate, Conform and Genetic.

Danilo’s passion for music started at a young age as a guitarist in a number of small rock bands. By the time he was a teenager Danilo had started Djing and after a few years he was playing at almost all the house and techno parties in Naples. He soon orientated to working in a recording studio were he gained new experience as a sound engineer. After working for various studios he decided to buy some equipment and started to produce his own music. As well as releasing records for a variety of labels, his success has most notably resulted in the creation of his own label, Orion Muzik.

The demand for Danilo Vigorito is coming fast and furious. 2004 alone has resulted in an outstanding US tour and a host of European dates, including a guest performance at one of Ibiza’s most famous clubs, Privilege. Danilo joins Ben Sims along with Meganite residents Mauro Picotto and Chris Liebing in Ibiza only 9 days before his appearance in Glasgow. He is most definitely the man of the moment!

Join Pulse & Red Eye for a summer spectacular on Friday 20th August 2004 celebrating a host of new talent along with the exceptional sounds of Danilo Vigorito for his first ever Scottish appearance.
