twistedwheelglasgow.com Many of us fondly remember The Rock Garden in Queen Street - No 73, to be exact - one of the first style bars and a real music lover's place. The Clash, and Love and Money played there... Well welcome to The Twisted Wheel, a Bar and Venue in the same space, with the same lay out and feel. Where the owners of Brel in Ashton Lane have tried to recreate The Rock Garden in a more laid back 'Brel' kind of way. It's even only 3 minutes walk from Buchanan Street subway station, a 10 minute ride from Brel! We have a bar that opens till 1am at weekends, and a downstairs club / gig venue that opens till 3am at weekends. The venue is an intimate space for 100 groovers, and hosts Club nights that are frequently hit listed in press! The Twisted Wheel was a famous Northern Soul club in Manchester in the late 60's. It was about what you wore, how you wore it, how you danced and what records you danced to... although we are not on a strict diet of soul or mod (in saying this we have had gigs by The Infidels and Figure 5) we understand good taste is paramount to the continuing culture of Glasgow as reflected in The Twisted Wheel. "Northern Soul is like the point where Ying and Yang meet...it's a sensation, and the place to express this feeling is on the dance floor..." John Barrett At The Twisted Wheel we have created a bar, venue and dance club accommodating approximately 100 on each floor, where our customers appreciate good music, a fine selection of beers and wines, great modestly priced bar food and, above all, good times. And we even have Setanta with unobstrusive plasmas, (a full size screen for major events) where you can watch sport in comfortable, safe and bampot free surroundings. We do not allow football colours.
