What a night.......
What a great night out this was.

Night started off at a steady pace, DJ Mackie played a good set and everyone seems to up for a good night out. 10pm comes, upstairs opens and Tom EQ rips out an amazing set, the crowd really starts to get going as upstairs get busier and busier.

Then Mike Cuta takes over from Tom EQ and drops some of his biggest hits on the crowd. At this point I could have pointed my camera anywhere and got a crowd of people having a great time.
Once Mike had settled down into his set I got chance to chat with him bit. Couldn’t hear much of what he had to say cause his voice is so low the bass bins drowned him out (or I’m going deaf – I am turning 30 this year s old now I’m officially old I’m told :-( ) but he was defiantly enjoying the crowd.

He was making a big deal of it being Ian Redman’s birthday, don’t ask me how old he is now but he was celebrating with quadrupled Jack Daniels and coke so there’s lots of life still in him.
Unfortunately after his set Mike had to shoot off to catch a jet out to where ever his next gig is but Ian Redman took over seamlessly and kept the tunes pumping.

Ian’s set was just as good as Mike’s and the crowds were still pumping right up till 3am when Ian due to finish. Rob Mellor was there already to take over but Ian just kept going, and played till the club finished at 4am, a full hour after he was due to finish. He must of been doing a good job to cause I was still getting great crowd shots at 3:30am. He did manage to catch his play button by accident, leave the crowd without music and completely confuse himself but after drinking that much JD I was more surprised he was still going at all and you got to forgive a guy Dj'ing on his b'day.

Overall it was a good night. Mike and Ian are great guys to talk to and didn’t get a single hint of ego out of either of them. And the management were that impressed with them that you could be seeing them back in Grimsby again.

But anyway I’ve gone on long enough and my beds calling me so I’ll just say I hope Alistair Whitehead next Saturday is as good as this gig. Night

I Think there both great in there own right Nige,
Masterpiece is obvious choice me and Andy Kay chose for your place when we did lighting there due to the Clay Paki Golden scan you have there and pulsar do the software for them, but at our place i chose showcad for few diff reasons mainly because i needed so many channels for dmx fixtures, got another 12 moving heads to add to the 6 ive already got up and another 6 tas ultra scans to go up with another 8 icq 250s ready to go, Masterpiece wouldnt have gave me that amount of channels without grouping fixtures together so it had to be show cad for me due to the power the programe gives ya., all wired up to nice midi keyboard job done.
