Stipe are a 5-piece outfit comprising of frontman, and Michael Stipe soundalike, Rick Southern (who originally formed the band in 1996), Paul Tongue on guitar and mandolin, Tony Williams on Fender bass and acoustic guitar, a very young looking Karl Hand on drums, and Pete Nicholls on keyboards and acoustic guitar (an Ovation?).
