The Festival
The Festival started out four years ago when a small and committed band of lunatics took over Masham Town Hall and two local pubs and filled them with the finest of local bands from 12:00pm till midnight, highlighting the threat to the Henges. Such was the reaction, that it was decided to repeat the Festival the following year - but this time it was done properly! A full three days was set aside and the hunt for a site began.
After a brief search, the ideal location was was found at Lime Tree Farm, just outside Ripon. The farm's owner, a jolly nice man named Peter, was developing his farm as a nature reserve. Peter's ideology sat very comfortably with that of the festival, and so the site was confirmed. The Festival had found a new home at Lime Tree Far,. the perfect site for a festival of this kind.
As well as highlighting the plight of the Henges, the Festival's other main aim is to showcase a wide variety of most excellent sounds for across the local region, as well bringing in interested (and interesting) bands from all over the country. It's a wide mix of excellent quality set in a beautiful location, filled with very chilled and groovy people - even the security men radiated warmth and love - what more could you ask for?
