Ok so TS hits Frenchs bar - we plan a funkier night, we play a funkier night.

The crowd is possibly not the right crowd for a TS party - hence I personally got asked for "christmas hits", "abba" and "that new one by the sugababes" - no offence people, but the flyer clearly states what the DJ's are playing tonight (There's always Yates').

Anyhow, that aside, it was a great night - up to about 10 there was nobody there at all, I was starting to get dissapointed. Before I knew it the place was crammed full of people and they were adjusting to the music - finding out there's more to life than Beyonce and other RnB tripe!

By the last 2 and a half hours we had the place rocking thanks to Dan Willett's Ableton skills - top quality effects there me lad!

Dan played for over an hour when we decided to take it to the next level. Mixing back onto CD from his laptop was a little sketchy as I had no control over his laptop but it worked pretty well. Me and the pervert did a back to back breaks and electro set up to the end and everyone seemed to love it!

So, in summary, I don't know how it went really - half the crowd loved it, half the crowd didn't - half the night was dead and people complained, half the night it was packed and they loved it... Definately the strangest reaction i've ever had playing out.

To sum it up:

*Dan rocked
*Dan was addicted to smoking the dancefloor with frangranced smoke
*My mixing was a tad sketchy
*Pervert played some stonking tunes
*We had a minor technical glitch switching to laptop, which I bodged and it sounded awful
*We made up for it with the following 3 hours
*I only used one of my lights (I have 4 now)
*That light looked good, so watch out for Bar Blue when they all come out to play

All in all I enjoyed it, and most people there did. Thanks to the usual suspects for coming!

Yes we converted over half the chart-lovers so it was a success.

I have to say I won't do another bar like that again even if offered. Bar Blue has open minded people and is perfect, lighting, size and I just love the place.

I sound really negative, i'm not, i enjoyed it - just need to get the right crowd - it's not French's fault really, it is kinda specialised music.

yeah, its never great when you get asked to play some 'good music!' by bloody Mcfly fans! but the atmosphere for the last few hours was top notch even so! i def feel that a fair few of the douters were won over by the end and hopefully you may get a few more converts to the next Blue Bar event :)

I'm playing at Frenchs again, but a different style - not an actual TS party - they work in Bar Blue, but not there. Frenchs is good for really funky house and that's what i'll be doing - no full on events though.

Besides, the police complained twice apparently because my subs were too loud - didn't think they were to be honest but fair enough.

Anyway, in the new year if anyone wants to pop down i'll drop some dates on here.

Smoke, lights and decks - that's it. Should be fun nonetheless!
