Following the success of August’s Bank Holiday Bash and Danny’s one-man five-hour Dig Deeper set, we felt that September should bring some variety…so this month's event will feature 4 DJs! As DropEvents continue to draw inspiration from the days of Bedrock, we are proud to bring you Phil ‘Moonface’ Thompson (GLOBAL UNDERGROUND, Bedrock) following the natural sequence from Danny Howells' epic return to Hastings last month.
Phil "Moonface" Thompson, featured on John Digweed's compilation CD in this month's DJMag, who's music Danny Howells became a fan of and introduced us to through compilations that later made their way to GLOBAL UNDERGROUND and Bedrock, was recommended by Danny Howells as his own replacement as Bedrock resident which resulted in Phil playing with John Digweed the world over and mixing a Bedrock Compilation.
Anthony Coombs, resident DJ of Pier Pressure and one of the main figures behind it’s success, an event that defined the Hastings club scene in the 1990s. He has played alongside Lee Burridge, James Zabiela, Futureshock and Danny Howells who went on to name Anthony Coombs as a future DJ to look out for in his DJMag Top 100 DJs interview. Anthony was later invited to warm up for dance music's heavyweight Paul Oakenfold.
Yannis Bilalis has been frequently appearing on the local scene since the days of Pier Pressure. The last few years have seen his productions get support from the likes of John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo whilst a mix CD received great reviews from IDJ Magazine.
Ben Burkes is a regular at Unit 7, a Club that many are rating within the top three London Venues alongside The End and Fabric!
