RIGGSY B2T resident

Riggsy started out playing trance at a small club in Birmingham city centre back in 1999 called Sputniks. This is where he gained his confidence as a dj, and was soon playing in clubs such as Sundissential and HardHouseHeaven. Riggsy now runs his own labels, Xtension Records and Scum Records ( with Ugly Dave ) These days, he is a full time sound engineer at his midlands based studio. Riggsy has worked alonside such artists as Dynamic Intervention, Alex Calver, Digital Kid, Barry Diston, and Tony De Leon to name but a few. His Hard NRG / Techno crossover style productions over the last couple of years have been popping up on various labels including Andy Farleys Blue Cubed Records, Flashpoint Records, Toolbox , Passion Records , 12 inch Thumpers , Nosebleed Records, Twisted Trax and Jedi , and has forthcoming releases lined up on Flashpoint , Toolbox, and Infekted. KYE SHAND B2T resident

When Kye starts a set at any venue you can instantly notice the crowd’s positive reaction. He’s very talented at laying out a set from start to finish, slowly retching up the energy as the set progresses. It’s rare not to see him bouncing round the stage and exciting the crowd with his infectious style whilst proforming.

Constantly progressing, Kye began playing at clubs such as Shaft @ Radius, Birmingham, Fidget @ Platform 5, Coventry and the Members Bar within Sundissential @ The Sanctuary Birmingham. Moving swiftly on to larger, higher profile events such as Sundissential 9th Birthday ( main room) @ The Sanctuary Birmingham, Storm 6th birthday @ The Imporium, Blue/Afters (regular, main room) @ Subway City Birmingham, and eventually gaining residency @ Bounce2This meaning regular bookings (main room) @ The Sanctuary Birmingham and tour booking round the UK
Production

As well as DJing throughout the UK Kye has also taken to music production - working with fellow producers Riggsy, Tony De Leon and Steve NRG - culminating with his debut release “Somthin Different” in December 2005. Witch proved to only be the start of things to come. By Oct 2006 Kye had released over 10 different tracks, one of which reaching the top of the Tidy Digital chart on Scum Records.

Promotion

Kye is also the founder of “Clatterd” - Promotions and Studio’s working in the midlands with some of the most recognized and respected clubs in the country, Such as: Sundissential, Gatecrasher, Lashed, Bounce2This, Passion and Dropzone to name but a few.

The CL-Studio – Quick insight

The CL- Studio is kye’s latest business venture, he and his production partner Paul F are due to open the studio on the 4th June 2007. With a strong and friendly client basis and an absolute ton of Promotional work tied together with two talented engineers such as these I can see the ‘CL-Studio’ being a name to look out for in the near future.

Combining DJ skills, promotional work & production Kye keeps proving himself to be one of the most promising young talents currently working through and up the dance industry.

AJ GIBSON - GODSKITCHEN RESIDENT

Andy Jones, DJ name AJ Gibson is best known for his sublime mixing of house music right through to uplifting trance, AJ is not the sort of DJ who will restrict his style and lets his personality shine through in his tune selection and his antics behind the decks. An all-round entertainer his energy and enthusiasm is matched only by the legions of clubbers who have witnessed legendary and infamous sets the world over. AJ prides himself on playing the right tunes for the people in front of him, as the clubbers are just as important as the music itself.

AJ’s greatest accolade to date has been as the original resident for Godskitchen for 10 years, and is now one of the world’s biggest clubbing brands – but this is only one of a long list of residencies held by one of the UK’s busiest resident DJs.

On top of his residencies at Knowwhere and Fixation the status of AJ as a leading DJ is confirmed with his appointments as a resident for Godskitchens Worldwide. In addition to this, AJ is also a resident on the Gatecrasher Worldwide tours and monthly resident at Leicester’s newest glam house night, Lovin Life. Here, he plays along side the likes of Tom Novy, Trophy Twins, Oliver Lang and Matt Collins from Hed Kandi.

It's just a website, in fact a website where you'll get no financial gain.

Who's that bothered about who builds it?

Oh and suggestions for the new site.

Flash is gash - small, smart flash animations or site extras are good, like a Flash music player or other extra feature are good.

Flash itself is not good for websites unless you are VERY good with it - see Beatport.com for example - now that is Flash done properly.

Flash also takes a long time to load unless optomised well, your average user can't be arsed to sit there for 3 minutes while your site loads, that's 3 minutes on a quick connection.

Not too many moving objects unless asked to move - ie don't have things randomly spinning or flashing, make things move on mouseover or click. Anything other is just annoying.

No automatic music playing - this is annoying - give the user the option of listening to music, people have different tastes and might not want distorted shite blasting from their laptop speakers (I speak from experience of using MySpace on my laptop).

Keep it simple - don't have too much on there, a small profile for each DJ, details of future events and a contact page - maybe 10 of the best photo's from TONK to make it look better than it is (Not saying it's not good, but some photo's make it look even better, like some of Andy's shots make TS look like a big club night).

Make sure the pages load fast - use Photoshop to optomise images for the web, when I'm doing price comparison with my site and others, if it doesn't load in under 15 seconds I leave - slow websites are shite and there's no excuse for it.

I must say, this is not a judgement on the existing site, these are purely tips from me - all the things that annoy general users and me talking through past experience.

You don't have to listen to me though :)

Nice one bud... It's all a learning curve, I've made some right shitters in my time lol...

I'll tell you why Mike.

Someone has deleted the website i had put effort into
while another one randomly appears

The person who created this website, who up until today
was a good mate of mine, will not tell me why he is doing
this.

i swear im on a hidden camera show !

My point being, it's a site for TONK, so you'll never get much out of it - build a personal one for your ventures that nobody can touch...

I know it's annoying, but these things happen - just forget it and move on - I've been screwed over a fair bit the last two years, if anything it's made me stronger and made me happier in the long run!

Well done with the profiles Nick. To my knowledge they seem pretty accurate and up to date. Changing the subject a little tho-we're gonna AV IT at Tonk continuing all through the weekend when Kye and Riggsy come down (with several other members of the B2T crew)
