Rogue Presents Hitchin's very own Victorian Ball!
Welcome, best beloved, to a gathering of the filthiest rogues, rotters, bounders and cads this side of Dunstable. This November, on the 21st day of the year of Our Lord, 2009 we shall be paying homage to our dead friends, Dickens, Verne, Austen and Wilde, not to mention the good Majesty herself and Empress of the British Raj, our very own Queen Victoria.
So wrench your typhoid-ridden faces away from your gin rags and come along to Club 85 in Hitchin to witness a number of exciting musical acts, among them:
CHAOS BABY
The Harlots of Hitchin have risen to fame in recent times and yet have never played Club 85 before. We are greatly honoured to welcome these punk libertines to our humble quarters.
LOWKI vs MISS TWIST
Grimier than a Brixton workhouse, expelling basslines that quake like a martian invasion upon Horsell Common and lyrics that would make even the most disreputable woman of the night turn a solid shade of crimson.
DROOME
Picaresque tales of laudanum-drenched decadence to make you dance with only the greenest of fairies. The "Terrorsome Troubadours" of Stevenage town will enchant you with accounts of witchery and woe. Not to be missed!
And not forgetting to mention the very latest wax cylinders as played by Messrs:
CHARLIE FRAME (Dog Latin) | MAX WISKER | DANNY G
...as usual spinning an eclectic mix from Parlour Song to Music Hall (and also some indie, dubstep, metal, punk, house, techno, reggae etc).
The night runs 'until one over midnight and entry is but THREE POUNDS as long as you are dressed in the appropriate garms. FOUR POUNDS if you are to be in the vulgar raiment of contemporary Britain.
For more information, please visit www.roguemusic.co.uk, where we will soon be holding interviews and features with all the acts involved.
