From small Afterparty to big Warehouse party, Galaxy FM’s Best Club in 2008 and Top Ten Club 2007 (Mixmag) ‘AFTERPARTY’ has successfully sown it’s seed in clubland and has now cultivated what is set to be one of the hottest party’s of 2008. This month the face of dance music Pete Tong ascends to Huddersfield with his chief in command Dave Spoon to put on a party that will not only be heard in Huddersfield but listened to by 10 million listeners all over the world.
The event will see over 1000 clubbers gathered in a warehouse building (Bates Mill off Chapel Hill) in true Afterparty style until 7am followed by a special invite only Aftermath at the camel club until 10am. We caught up with promoter Domski to find out abit more about the event.......

Right lets get started…
Tell us a bit about yourself…?
Im a dj/ promoter, been in the industry for 10 years, I produce house music and get into the studio about twice a week. I have played at most of the clubs in Leeds (Space, Warehouse, Mission, Fibre, Mint club) playing along side Fedde le Grand, Tocodisco, A.T.F.C, Annie Mac and Groove Armada. I now have residencies at Afterparty, Carry on at Revolution, Cotton Factory in Huddersfield and Lush in Halifax.
I also run the Afterparty along side Bongo Dave and Martin Doorly. Afterparty as a brand has hosted some of the biggest Dj’s in the world like Groove Armada, Pete Tong, 2 Many Dj’s, Annie Mac, Scratch Perverts, John Carter, Dave Spoon. We are also doing a live broad cast from one of our Warehouse parties were I will be djing along side Pete Tong and Dave Spoon.

How did you get started in the dance music scene?
Got a tax rebate and I was living in a caravan at the time, so instead of spending it stupidly I invested in some turntables, the rest was history.
Got properly Started in 2001 where I just organized a party for a few friends, these parties gained momentum and then became one of the biggest Friday nights in Leeds at the time, it was called ‘One love’.
What’s this I hear about you running Warehouse raves in Huddersfield?
The warehouse raves have just put Huddersfield on the map, it’s good to see that the local people support it with force, and that the council are happy with us. It’s about time Huddersfield gain the attention from Leeds and Manchester.
Tell us a bit about your involvement in Afterparty?
Martin, Bongo and myself all have certain roles in the Afterparty, what I deal with is getting the word on the street through print, posters and flyers. I also deal with a lot of the legal side of it, putting structure in place to help the business run better.
Can you describe Afterparty sound?
Afterparty is not just one sound, and it is always changing, at the moment it has a new rave/ Electro breaks sound to it.
How’s it going?
From strength to strength, like I said before it seems to get a lot of support from a lot of different people including the police, council and punters.
Are you working on any other nights?
The three of us also have a night called ‘Carry on’ at Revolution in Huddersfield, another afterhours night. We play full on house music there and also are constantly giving new talent a chance.
We do have more plans for other club nights but that would be telling.

Tell us something funny about the promoters or DJ’s of Afterparty?
Martin has a great sense of humour and constantly has his hands down his pants (apart from when he is djing).
Bongo is a party boy who now and then eats his bogies.
Clubs all over the UK seem to be dropping like fly’s… have these changes affected AFterparty?
All I can say about the Afterparty is that it was started at the right with the right people, in the right place.
So how would you describe your style to someone who had never heard your stuff before?
My sound is a bit all over the place but the closest thing to what I am is electro breaks, with a bit of something you will recognize in there from time to time.
What’s your favourite year for dance 80’s, 90’s or now?
2004 when electro was just coming out before it went cheesy
How do you feel your mixing and technical ability has evolved over the last few years?
My mixing has certainly changed over the last too years I throw or chop stuff into my mixers and squeeze as many tunes into a mix as possible.
You got any plans to release anything else soon?
Yeah I have just finished a track with a good friend of mine called Lee Sentilaire (fantastic producer), we are going to finish an album before we release any of the tunes.

What do you prefer DJing, promoting or producing?
Producing and Djing I love both as equal as each other, don’t like sitting in front of a computer too much and djing just totally gets me out there.
Are you doing any festivals this year?
At Huddstock I will making an appearance, should be a good sunny day like last year, and if so loads of fun.
What else you got in the pipeline?
Well we are going to set an Afterparty record label up, and we will also be organizing Afterpartys further a field.
As producing goes I will keep knocking these tunes out and playing them in my set to test for crowd reaction.
