First let me thank everyone that made a champion effort to make the Eat Your Words 13th Birthday Party. OAP homes and Primary schools were emptied to ensure a diverse and happy crowd packed the Welly Club on this momentous night. Though I am still waiting for this year’s Oscar nominations I can definitely say that everyone seemed to enjoy the Eat Your Words DVD, many thanks to ADR with the production. Most people I spoke to, who got a free copy, said it was worth every penny.

This years Boxing Day Special is looking like a corker already with a quarter of the tickets being sold before the flyers hit the street for the general public. This winter we are taking back the old skool party vibe of the millennium party, adding a infamous “Gypsy Moth/ Uni” type location, but keeping it 100% legal with a heated licensed venue. The "mystery" location is within 3 miles of the Hull city centre.

There will be plenty of places to wonder round and explore, with pub priced bar, a cloakroom and a full Security crew. We are trying to keep the location as quiet as possible, though it is disclosed on your ticket when purchased. This is to enable you and your friends a head start on the clubbing public and create a great atmosphere with those you know and those still to discover.

Tickets are available on-line via www.blissedup.com, or through Levy/Carol 07824 888347 / 07852 771811. If you need more information Please ring Neil 07787 120267. We have now sold a third of the tickets and this event has a strictly limited capacity so please get your tickets now to avoid disappointment as you know through our reputation on our previous Boxing Day nights that this is going to be an exceptional experience.

On Boxing Day we always like to focus on the party rather than bigger names, thinking about it I think it’s always about the party! However this year we have managed to summon up, like a plastic toy in a packet of cornflakes s top notch team of your favourite Eat Your Words djs. As well as GUYVER taking time out of his international schedule to delight his home crowd, we have EZC & Biggus, Conrad & Russ, Levy & Rock “et” Ron.

Fancy Dress or I look a mess?, we have an original fancy dress theme that will get even the unadventurous amongst you excited: ROCK STARS / POP STARS. So if you fancy yourself as a member of KISS, or just fancy being the queen of being pissed: Amy Win-o-house, just let your imagination run wild.

We have some unusual characters walking around on Boxing Day, in the form of Zippy & George from children’s favourite “Rainbow” (not the rock group though that’s a great idea!). Unfortunately fate has not been kind to them since their TV fame in the 1980’s and hard times ended up with George making some dodgy business decisions with some Latino gangsters in Miami. Zippy, who only went with George as he thought it was a holiday in the USA that they had won through “Readers Digest” magazine, was tortured as the business associates tried to find George. Luckily for George, Zippy held out, but now suffers from a neck deformity that some would think wrong but to us we regard it as more of a badge of courage. George escaped the criminals and found Zippy, in hospital, but not before he had major plastic surgery in Brazil. This drastically changed him from the light pink Hippo to a neon pink elephant you’ll see on Boxing Day. Next newsletter: “Where do babies come from ?”

Attractions on the night, as we transform the venue into a party palace, include; 10kw Sound System (as used at the Farmyard/Helmsley festival), Several lasers, High powered LED strobes, Moving head lighting, Twisters, Video Projectors, Inflatables, Banners, Seedy Santa’s Grotto, drapes & fairy lights!

Talking of Seedy Santa, he has been on the rocks again with Motley Crue. Yes Santa loves that Rock’n’Roll. His lush Eat Your Words Rockettes will be aiding him with his gifts for you. This year he promises to give you some presents that you will never forget…well at least not until you have had several months of counselling anyway.

In our Enchanted garden you will be able to fill your lungs with that harmful nicotine at your leisure. Our team of fairies will have been busy making it pretty for the special night with pretty lights and erecting…a chill out igloo in the form of a clear Zorb ball for you to chill out in.

Finally, the “Eat Your Words” Radio show starts on www.summertimeradio.co.uk on tuesday 2nd Dec @ 7.30pm. We will be playing some corking classics to get you in the mood for Boxing Day. Keep your eyes out for more monthly shows on Summer time!

Remember “Spread the word”…like Rudolph the reindeer’s nose, through the winter’s sky. Yes fictitiously.
