Cako-Bako trio The Nox join the Karneval

An experienced trio of DJ's hailing from Leeds, Jonathan Bagshaw, John Loxley & Shaun Marriot aka The Nox are an exciting prospect to behold. Two of them energetically mixing, cutting & FXing, the third scratching over the mix. It's enthralling stuff & taking into consideration a diverse mix of driving minimal house & euphoric electronica with deeper, darker melodies; the three Yorkshire men really do rock the party!

Having met clubbing in 2001, the three established DJ's & massive dance music fans forged an inseparable friendship which has held strong & led to the formation of The Nox. Heavily involved with harder edged music throughout the 90’s and into the early millennium, the lads travelled the length & breadth of the country clubbing, DJing individual gigs & supporting each other throughout.

Main achievements have seen Jonathan Bagshaw secure a residency at ‘You Want Some More’ @ The Mint Club, Leeds under his Mr.Nox alias. John Loxley aka Lox has regularly graced the decks at The Tidy Weekender, Sundissential & Goodgreef & held a residency at Parlez-vous? & Housewives Choice. Both Jonathan & Shaun were also Housewives Choice residents & played gigs up & down the UK as The Nocturnal DJs.

Since 2005 Baggy, Lox & Shaun as they are more commonly known have delighted in the new wave of electro music and have embraced techno, minimal & Tech house independently on different levels. Each bringing so much to the turntables individually, it made common sense to combine those attributes.

A collective enthusiasm, hearty work ethic & willingness to succeed coupled with a love for the party & first rate technical abilities means The Nox deliver the kind of spectacle seldom equalled in a DJ booth. Their debut mix ‘Sicut Nox Silentes’ has been met with wide critical acclaim from both clubbers and promoters of massive Leeds events ‘The Dirty Disco’, ‘Technique’, ‘Glasshouse’ & ‘Polaroid’ but to name a few. As a result things are looking up, with forthcoming bookings at various club nights.

The second mix aptly named ‘Hip House’, is a deeper fusion of euphoric electro & minimal-trance beats which smoothly hypnotizes the listener whilst also managing to explode at high octane techy levels intertwined with punchy scratching & deft vocal sampling. A definite progression in standard & skills expresses the clear fact, there is lots more to come from the three young Yorkshire men!

With production & promotion high on the agenda, The Nox debut demo mix; 'Sicut Nox Silentes' & the follow up ‘Hip House’ are available on cd request & to download @ www.klubber.co.uk /MIXES
