What a waste of time and money
after travelling all the way from manchester, looking forward to uprising in my hometown. we arrived at the welly looking forward to the great night ahead. it was a good turn out,saw plenty of familiar faces, uprising regulars, plus old friends. after waiting for ages, people started saying the night was cancelled!!! (what? all these people outside and no one seemed to care) the bouncers locked the gates, switched off the lights and shut the doors. "go out in town" yeah coz wer all going to get in town all chavved up and ready for a rave. At about half 11 we finally found that they'd moved the venue. we walked up to revoloution which was about 15 mins away. £5 to get in. mmm ok i suppose half the price for half the night. Only me and my girlfriend got in the rest of my mates wer turned away saying the venue had reached its capacity (my arse!!!) any way, we wer in!!! woo, dj demand, ell, marcus and domer. had 2 drinks, went for another and was told that they had stopped serving beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a fucking joke!!!!!!! i do hope they are doin refunds.
i heard a free rave is in order. (compensation to all those disappointed ravers), who wasted all that money.

QUOTE FROM THE SITE

After making the most of what was probably the worst situation we, as promoters and party goers have come across in over 20 years, we'd quickly like to thank:

You the fans for staying loyal and making the night as good as it could be in the circumstances.

The management and staff at Revolution for letting us "hijack" their venue and such short notice.

And the police for their help and understanding throughout the night.

All in all we think everyone deserves a round of applause for making it possible to salvage something from the night.

Finally we would like to offer everyone our sincere appologies for the way we and you found ourselves being treated by the Welly Club's security company. You can be sure we won't be accepting their request ever again to hold an event there. The treament we all got was nothing short of disgraceful.

For now we will leave it here. We wil be taking the matter further, but for now we're off to get so well earned rest.

Once again we thank you for your loyalty and support and we are really sorry your night out was spoilt.

I've heard the full story now and agree the best was made of a bad situaion. The profit welly lost for the want of a few more bouncers must really sting. 500 in the queue at 10.30 on a friday I heard.

LOL there was only 20 people inside the club b4 it was supposed to open and you wasn't 1 of them.the truth is terry gave the bouncers a backhander not to open cos he was scared it would beat his night, uprising is the biggest hardcore night in England and i reckon there got that status by been well organized DONT YOU ?
