The 100mm is too close to 85mm.

The 180mm is a tad on the expensive side and only f/3.5.

Any zoom macro are not sharp and no 1:1.

The 150mm fits the bill perfectly. Tack sharp, affordable, and f/2.8. Doubles up as a general tele.

24-105L, but hand held - so possibly a bit wobbly.

I need a new tripod head as my existing one is fuxored, but I couldn't wait!

IS though.

I would definitely go prime for macros. Even my fake macros with my 15mm Fisheye looks crazy sharp at 100% crop.

Yes, but even with IS you can get motion blur - IS can even make it worse sometimes.
