Euphoria presents
The 6th Annual Hard Dance Awards 2009 powered by Trackitdown.net
Friday 27th February @ Leeds Academy
Supported by BBC Radio 1
WWW.HARDDANCEAWARDS.COM

_______________________________________________________________________________________

On Friday 27th February, Leeds Academy will host the UK’s most powerful event in hard dance, where the pioneers and innovators of the scene are awarded for their contribution... Yes, boys and girls, it’s back and bigger than before – it’s the Hard Dance Awards 2009.

The city of Leeds will be bowled over when it sees 2,200 fanatical clubbers descend on the newly opened Academy for this annual event. This awards ceremony is no stranger to the Academy setting having held its 2007 event at Brixton Academy: but this is a special one for Leeds as it prepares to open its doors for the very first time for an event of this kind. Further enhancing the event is BBC Radio 1 where not one, but two hard dance Essential Mixes will air alongside regular updates on Kutski’s Friday night show.

Who will clean up on the awards for their services to hard dance? It’s up to you to decide. Voting is now open on the official website www.harddanceawards.com where you can cast your vote in categories including Best DJ, Best Producer, and Best Label, and also in three brand spanking new ones.

Sponsors Trackitdown.net have created the Best Artist Album category after a seeing a rise in hard dance releases throughout 2008, Best Regional Hero to give street level DJs recognition for their service to their local area, and the mother of all awards – Outstanding Contribution to Hard Dance. Unlike the others, this is a fixed category with five, set nominations. To find out who’s up for it and to have your say log onto the site now.

This Hard Dance Awards is set to be an all night showdown with a stellar line-up, live stage performances, and the all important awards ceremony. Showcasing three rooms of music, the mighty main room lines up hard dance giants Showtek, Kutski, Andy Whitby, and Rob Tissera, whilst the country’s regional heroes and residents, including BT2’s Strange Dave and Contagious resident Caz Wood, will take over the proceedings on the top floor: and this is still only scratching the surface. Leeds Academy boasts an underground, 400 capacity club with low ceilings and a fat sound system where stalwarts Paul Glazby, the Organ Donors, Tidy DJs, and many more will thrash out the sounds ‘til the early morn.

The awards ceremony, presented by Trackitdown’s Ed Real takes place from 10pm where he’ll be joined by a number of guest presenters. Will Tidy keep the crown for Best Label? Will BK carry on his reign as Best Producer? Find out only at the Hard Dance Awards. Voting closes 18th February 09.

Look out for Hard Dance Awards Euphoria - a three disc CD set containing a bible of hard dance from some of the biggest artists around.
