Rob Tissera and Tolley Explain Kissdafunk's Move of Venue

So, Kissdafunk is moving to the 02 Academy, Leeds this month. Since you've been at Mission for the last five years, that's pretty big news. Why the change of venue?
Rob & TolleyWe absolutely loved the time we spent at mission (after all; it was our birth place) but we felt it was time for a new challenge. The 02 Academy is an amazing venue and we feel it will allow us to provide a truly exciting and spacious setting for our next chapter.

For those that haven't been what's the 02 Academy like?
Rob & TolleyThe venue oozes quality from every pore. The main arena is a fantastic state-of-the-art space and we can't wait to see Steve Angello, Dirty South and David Guetta among many others tearing the roof off. The sound is second to none and the lighting is beyond anything you can see in any other Leeds venue. Bar prices will be cheaper and it's a more versatile space. We also plan to put new blood in the downstairs room. Oh and the toilets are cool. We both went to see Basement Jaxx last Sunday and it absolutely blew our minds. We're certain it will blow yours too!

How do you think you KDF fans will adjust to the more theatre like layout?
Rob & Tolley > We’re pretty sure they’ll absolutely love it! Just check out the footage of the James Zabelia gig held there recently - it will help show everyone how great it looks in full flight! People already like the venue and have let us know their approval.

For the launch party on 29th May you've got Steve Angello and Dirty South headlining. Both these guys are on fire at the moment and they've rocked Mission in the past. You must be delighted to have them back for your new housewarming?

Rob, we also hear through the grapevine that you've been hiding a couple of great house tracks up your sleeve too? Tell us about that!
Rob & TolleySure, i've been writing loads of new stuff to play in my house sets. I've done a rework of Faithless' 'We Come 1'. This is coming out under the name BOBBY TEE & JUAN KIDD. It's been signed by the CR2 label and it's being played by Erick Morillo, Seb Ingrosso and Mark Knight as well as getting heavy rotation on radio.

I've also just done a remix of a track called 'Luvstruck' for Filthy Rich's label. Recently I've been asked to do a house remix of 'Heaven's Cry' which is coming out on Avex in Japan initially. I'm really happy with how it's all going. Expect to see a few more productions too as I'm bang at it in the studio right now.

You've been working with the guys at Mission for the last four years so it must be quite hard to leave the team. Will you still work with them in the future?
Rob & TolleyYeah of course. We really loved working there and we never like to burn our bridges with anyone. Mission really did provide us with some of the best times of our lives. We'd like to thank everybody connected with the club for all their hard work over the past 5 years.

You're also back in Ibiza this year with the Judgement Sundays' team. If was great fun last year. Will it be the same this year. What plans have you got?
Rob & TolleyOur experience at Judgement last year was pure joy. Every party we did was so well received and Jules and his team are a pleasure to work with. Now that we’re established, this summer will be even stronger for sure. We have dates secured with...... Henrik B, Seamus Haji, Micky Slim and Howard Donald.

What other exciting plans has KDF got planned for the summer?
Rob & TolleyWe'll be in Mallorca every Tuesday at Boomerang's. We worked there all Summer in '08 and we thoroughly enjoyed every gig. this year we have Susee X, Jason Herd, Drew Scott, Trophy Twins and more. We've even got a hotel site which will allow you to book hotels. Apart from that we've got plenty more plans. Expect David Guetta back shortly; and we've got Laidback Luke playing for us in Blackpool & Middlesborough at Arena in June.
