Exclusive Intrview and Mix: Arno Cost

This article is about Mint in Leeds (UK)

Hi Arno, for those who are not familiar with you please could you tell us who you are and what your up to?

I am a 23 years old french producer and dj. I've been making house music for 7 years now and signed on labels like Cr2, Joia, Kontor etc...

You had massive success with the track ‘Cyan’ how did this track come about?

I actually made the track in 2 days. I was trying something with an arpeggio and instead of using a normal synth, i took a piano, and it sounded great !

I wanted something very melodic like "Magenta" or tracks like "Souvenir" but maybe more powerful on a dancefloor. I think i made it !

Do you find it hard to keep making dancefloor destroyers and play all over the world?

Yes it is very hard because there is always a lot of pressure on you, people wait for big tracks from you all the time. So i have to do my best all the time too !

And touring all over the world is really wearying. But I love what i do so Im not going to complain !!!

Do you have any future release we should be looking out for?

Yes there is a new track we made with David Guetta and Norman Doray. We dont know yet when it's going to be released but it should be a great one !

I am also preparing a new single with my friend Arias, it is going to be a vocal tune for once. And it already sounds really good !!

Did you always want to be a DJ or is this a more recent venture?

Well, when i was a kid, i always wanted to play the music in my mates parties. Then, i started making my own music and my dream was that radio stations play my tunes. Being a dj then became natural to me.

What can we expect to hear from you at your Filth Performance?

New tracks from me, promos i receive and bootleg of course. I play house/electro but always sexy and big room. Hope you guys will enjoy !!
