Wtf
How can a night get all of its rooms closed, and finishes one hour early.....when people have paid £25 to get in!!!

I especially came for the hardcore room, and after being in there for only an hour the security closed the room down (it wasnt even THAT dead).

Is it possible to get my money back? We travelled ALL the way from Doncaster for this night and left VERY peeved off

SHOCKING

Clapmed straight out!

People notice how Bionic are so determined to take no responsability and have now posted 3 comments how it wasnt there event. Their saying that JUST because it was a flop! Now check the following link below at another event they were involved with and watch the video. Then read the comments and you will see how they boast as if it was their event JUST because it was the a success

My point is their soon to taker credit for a succesful event they haven't funded but wh...
FACT...The event was not a Bionic event and we were not involved in the running of it, by obligation or otherwise.
FACT...100% of the profit/loss from the event was to be received by Oblivion as it was there event.
FACT...Bionic fully complied to all obligations, providing decor, assisting with internet promotion, and providing artists to play at the event.
FACT...We would never claim an event to be ours unless it was. This is an absurd statement to make. We have worked hard for over 9 years establishing Bionic as one of the UK's leading hard dance brands. We respect the hard work other promoters put in as we know how difficult it can sometimes be, and have never been accused of taking credit for another promoters hard work. I guarantee you won't find a promoter that's worked with us that would accuse us of such a thing.

As for the offer of free entry to Bionic for whoever went, we are not doing this as we feel we have to, but because we were all there on the night and could see for ourselves that the clubbers didn't get what they'd paid for. This was completely out of our control, had we known the event wouldn't be a success we wouldn't have got involved as we gained nothing from it, not even a deposit, but there's no way of knowing if an event is going to be a success beforehand. We don't want the people who went to see our artists being disappointed at what they got for their money, so we're offering the chance for these people to come to our Bionic event at our home venue in Newport so they can see for themselves that they'll get 100% of what's advertised on our flyer and more, regardless of how many people come through the door.

I'd just like to add that in over 9 years, we've only ever had several DJs not be able to turn up, each time for a genuine reason, every single time we've replaced that DJ with one of equal or greater standing, and have always posted up all over the net to let people know in advance. All our clubbers can confirm this statement as fact.

If you are going to try and criticise us please stick to facts, we take what we do very seriously and have a passion for it, and it's never been our intention to do anything other than give our clubbers as much as we can for their ticket price, which is why while many events have come and gone over the years, we're still here successfully promoting events and working alongside some of the UKs leading event promoters such as Slammin Vinyl.

I hope at some point Rich can make an official statement regarding this event.

Wayne your a funny one,

On a serious note, i had alot of fun! it was really nice to play on that stage with people like Trance Generators and Cally & Juice, I was lucky enough to play warmup set for it and met some great people.

Yes the expected numbers were not there and didn't help that a festival was on down the road.

I wanna thank Gav from bionic for his efforts and under no circumstance should Bionic suffer from this event, i will be going to bionic as much as i can now because the standard of DJing from their residents was amazing.

At the end of the day its was a big night that didnt work and there may be excuses floating around, people are obviously pissed off and DJ's didnt get paid. But Richie has a massive debt now and Oblivion is no more from what i can see, it was make or break and they got broken!

We made the best of it and what we saw was top class!! and we cannot deny that!!!

and OMG TRANCE GENERATORS & Swankie DJ & Kashi, Were sooooo MENTAL

NEW FAVOURITES!!!!!

I dont think it was anything to do with the venue, but more to do with location, i bet if it was held nearer on in london and the tickets were cheaper it would have been a success!!! I know riche is gutted about the event and im sure he will reply soon enough.

Richard is out and tryin to sort out money to try and cover at least some of the Djs and propmoters petrol and hopefully some of their wages, he will be about this evening.

Squad E and M Zone had turned up on the night and said the deposit was fine they just wanted Richard to find them another booking and they'd call it even, due to the rooms bein shut down by the university.

Quoting M Zone on the night "I do it for the love of the music, you've paid the deposit that's good enough for me, don't worry about the rest just find me another set."

I have spoken to Andy Bowler and he wouldn't let me get a word in edge ways all he cared about was the money, which the Djs had already said not to worry about it on the night as they could see what the turn out was like.

Bionic had the cash there but decided not to take it due to the circumstances on the night as sat nav gav and cally have explained. Tidy have also decided not to charge there full fees and have taken their deposits and have taken their intial fee.

Oblivion had started a year back and is a small promotion, yes we did go for a big event, yes it did turn out disappointing but i'm sure that for all promoters out there they would understand that some events don't turn out as much as they had hoped for. This was a first for us we had hoped that with the help of other promotions involved who had more experience in this size of event it would of taken off.

We're not blaming anyone for the way things turned out but like it has been mention before it was out of our hands to shut the rooms down. We did try and keep them open and a couple of the other promoters who had hired their brand out even tried.

As for Andy tryin to chase money up when the Djs have already said don't worry about it, why is this?

We would like to thank the following Djs and promotions who tried to make the financial loss as little as possible by either reducing their fee, only takin booking fee, deposit or handing their wages back:

Bionic
Cally & Juice
Mc Shocker
Brian M & McBunn
Swankie Dj & Kashi
Alan Wilson
Dj Rascal
Tidy
Mr Peterz
Hefty
Messy P
Ilogik
Bumble
NicmacDj
Rush GBH
Energyrush
Critical Justice
Genetic Fusion
Thera
Whizzkid
Static
Flyhigh

We could name and shame a certain promotion who took money for their branding and didn't supply what was promised along with only 1 of their Djs turning up, but we won't say who as they already know who they are!!!

Maikmunchkin-dc, Bionic have kindly offered to give the clubbers a night if they can prove they have been to the event.

What have oblivion offered the clubbers?

I'm chasing the money because its my job.
On the night Mzone had no idea that I had to send the contracts out twice.
That I was told deposits would be paid within a certain time frame then excuses were made. That Richard already broke his word once.
Mzone also didn't know that I had to turn down 3 other bookings for him because of this booking.
& Squad E wasn't even cancelled by Richard he had a 3rd party deal with that. Very little point in Squad E arguing the toss with someone who is only passing on a message is there.

No Mzone doesn't DJ for the money...However he also didn't ask to invest in your event. Neither did I. If Mzone doesn't get paid then neither do I, if Squad E Doesn't get paid then neither do I.
Had Richard not basically screamed at me down the phone telling me "you will get nothing" before I had chance to make any financial arrangement. Had he been reasonable come up with an apology himself to the artists & myself. Then maybe a reasonable deal could have been made. Instead I get abuse & excuses.......
I give leeway to promoters myself both as an artists & manager & promoter. That leeway is given over time not on a first event, on a 1st booking basis. This is now really starting to annoy me as its wasting my time. I've already said you can come up with whatever excuse & blame whatever 3rd party you want however as the ACTUAL promoter the clear blame lies solely with Richard. If he wasn't happy & had problems with the promotion, brands, venue then he only has himself to blame for not organising the event properly.
I really don't appreciate the paying public being ripped off & that is exactly what the promoters of this event did. Especially in this current climate £25 + travel + spends is a lot of money. To some of the attendee's this may have been their 1 night out in July & you guys basically stole from them, no matter how you butter it up, no matter who else you try & blame... The people who paid to get in did so because of the line up & you took a large part of that line up away from them...Therefore unless you fully intend to repay all of the attendees money back (which I seriously doubt) you quite simply stole their money.
Start admitting & accepting the blame here. Does Richard have such small testicles that he can't stand up & be counted.

wayne.. hows your DJ going..

well im hoping to get residency at Oblivion or I might even aim to get a b2b set wiv u at Mercy! lol. :)
At this precise moment all we can offer is our apology like we've have stated we can not offer anythin at the moment because of the massive finaciall loss, but we will be able to in the near future.

Those that list their names and can prove that they were there will be offered some form of compensation once somethin is finacially viable

so you are basically saying you took on promoting this event without the financial backing in the 1st place. Yet another to add to the comedy of errors.
You guys are nothing more than a very sad joke

Fair play to bionic for offering free entry as compensation.

Fair play to bionic for offering free entry as compensation.

Anyone who attended this event who wants free entry to Bionic just has to scan their proof of being there (ticket stub or wrist band) and email to bionic@bionicevents.com including their full name and state which event they'd like free entry to, either Aug, Sept or Oct Bionic event in Newport. We'll then email you back with confirmation.

This event was no way worth 25 quid in the 1st place. if they had charged 5 or 10 quid they would have made more money because more people would have attended a number of my friends didnt come becasue the price was too high for a venue like stylus altho it is a good venue regardless of what brands are there 25 quid is just to steep. it didnt help that unity day was the same day and was also free. Its simple the promoters were to blame for this as they obviously didnt promote it well enough so people wernt even aware it exsisted and they over charged us. looks to me like oblivion is a dead brand to me R.I.P
