because i'm younger i can't understand it on another level? raving was one of the things that changed my entire life, full circle

nice one. i see the point you're making here.
i guess a lot of younger ppl feel that too cos the scene is often first experienced as this total eye opener.

i'd just like to say good on you for the humility you've shown in your post and the careful way you've expressed yourself there. i think that if we can express ourselves truthfully but with respect, then we're onto something important. i hope that you will keep occasionally droppin into riff raff for the amount of stuff it clearly gives you. for what it's worth, i have a lot of respect for the courage you've shown x

as i said, i never intended to cause offence at all! i've shared some brilliant times with a lot of you (whether you realise it or not, lol) and i would never mean anyone any disrespect. that said, "all facts are friendly" :)

i wont be gone forever, i just think i need to have a little break. we'll see. the temptation of dave the drummer might entice me back for the next one but with limited funds, and escalating costs (damn you, rent) i might just give the next couple a miss. i'm still living in leeds for the next 18 months, so, for sure i'll come again.. at some point.

Hello hello... I've never been offended by anything said here... genuinely beleive that all feedback is good feedback and would encourage everyone to get involved and let us know your thoughts, feelings and deisres for future riff raffs..

Its a funny game trying to please everyone.. I agree that some tracks get played over often.. its a hard trick to select which should stay and go from your sets.. ironincally tracks like Astrix-Fire; Funky Town; one night in hackney; i love techno etc etc are ones that if it wasn;t for countless requests to play I probably wouldnt still be playing.. You will also notice that when I play the earlier set of the night I play a selection of genres and place classix riff raff tracks into these sets.. when I play the middle/last set of the night they are usually brand new sets constructed for that night..

Its a great thing, sites like DSI that give everyone an opportunity to speak directly to attendees and the DJs and promoters.. I appreciate your comments and subsequent postings that further describe your thoughts.. I'm well chuffed you speak in such high regards of RR and appreciate your letting me know areas you feel I could improve.. its all good..

Lab4 DJs have each now played twice.. and feedback is mixed.. and polar.. like marmite some really really love, others not.. they have been requested by many many people...

I like your choices MARK EG has played befroe and would be good to have back again soon.. Yoji would be "hirarious" cos he always speaks to the crowd and getting him to say "hewo wiff wiff" would be insanely funny! he's also incredibly expensive - (we looked into it a while back.. we'd have to remortgage the WI centre!!

In the line ups for the next 6months we have a range of new debut acts/djs from around the UK, europe and Ireland that we have selected as fitting for riff raff stage... cutting edge, fresh, new talent that are all makings waves in their repsective locations.. to hear them first you'll need to be a Riff raff.!

thanks for everything you all do to make and keep riff raff one of the best consistent parties aorund in the scene..

love and peace cx

I say Mark EG cause he played at the first RR I ever came to - when I got hooked on the place!

he's also incredibly expensive

How much extra per ticket would we have to pay to get him there??? Haha. I wuv him. :P I was happy to pay extra for Proteus. Obviously within reason. I know not everyone will want to spend a tonne on seeing him, although having him at RR would be quality entertainment.

Looking forward to this, for sure. And I will be keeping my eyes on the future line ups. As I said, I wont be gone forever. Just having a break :)

for an indication of costs - think return flight from Japan to UK, hotels, expences then the biggest fee we will have ever paid and doubled! on top.. and the the pound/euro against the yen means even more money than it was last year.. I will chck out again to c if its possible to see when he is in europe next and if there is a riff raff on theat week..

Proteus has asked to come back again and we'll be linking diaries to see when its possible.. again some love him to bits, and some think not techno enough.. its differnet styles from usual.. its good to see what other scenes are upto and DJs from around differnet places..

Dave the Drummer still remains my favourite techno DJ of all time.. always fresh, alway great new music time again.. he's up next month.. ccant wait..

speak soon

He's my favourite act too, I have very fond memories of completely losing all composure and havin' it at shamania to his set :)

I noticed glowbones at psytopia, there were a fair few acts there that I think would have fitted in well at RR.

bleughhhh Yoji? Love techno, hate Tech Dance :)

cant someone just play his 'Techy Techy' tune and save a bundle of cash :P Selkirk, this is my request haha

I think, production wise, my favourite techno dj is Alex Calver but i have NO idea what he's playing out atm....if he is, can Riff Raff pull a few strings :P
