WILL THERE EVER BE HARDSTYLE?
I wish Riff Raff would do a bit of Hardstyle aswell as the other hard genres, dont get me wrong i love a bit of hard techno/trance, but hardstyle is my true love and i just think it would make the event much better and appeal to more people in the hard scene, cheers for listening to the rant!

No0o0o0o0o!!!! think Rif raff is amazing, but a bit of Hardstyle wuoldn't go amiss at all, anytime, anywhere!!

Although last time I was there one of the DJ's blasted out about 30 seconds of Gabber, me and Shane went mental hoping it would last, no one else seemed to know what the fuck was going on!!!!

But yeah, I aint heard no Hardstyle there, (Not been often though!) but it does play varied music, so I'm sure there's been some chucked in at some point. Would be awesome to ge a full set though!

riff raff is bad enough nowerdays with out addin hardstyle to it eughhhhh now if they added a bit of a bounce hardhouse element that would pick the mood up alot whoot whoot

bounce hardhouse element

cant see bounce going down to well at riff raff myself lol :P

personally i feel that the amount of hardstyle that gets played at riff raff is fine, people would get bored if it was hardstyle for all or most of the night, as im pretty sure the majority of people go to RR as the music is so varied
I love hardstyle myself but if i want to hear it all night i'll go to a specific hardstyle event, not RR!

Had a wicked time on saturday by the way, looking forward to the next one :o) x

I wasn't aware of the evil music tag... I just can't stand it. None of it, from fluffy to demoniac and all in between. If a club books DJs playing music I don't like I just don't go, easy as that.

If we all had that attitude no one would go out.

I prefer to stay in than going out to listen to music I don't enjoy. By far...!

Yeah, i went to a Funky House night in London couple of weeks ago and had an awesome night even though I hate the music! So long as I can dance and have a chat it's all good! x

And i used to think I hated Hardcore til I went to a sole Hardcore night, I was nicely surprised!

if peeps want hardstyle so much why not go to one of the many hardstyle nights you normally see occuring each month up here? one of the things that i feel makes riff raff so unique and so good is the alternative style of music that gets played, focusing mainly on hard/acid techno, nrg, german hard trance aswell as hardstyle. there seem to be more hardstlye nights than you can shake a stick at right now up north, so it would nice to keep riff raff as it is, as opposed to hearing the same tunes that have been played to death at all the other commerical nights!

Hardstyle at riff raff? Hahaha. Fuck no. You gotta be jokin' matey.

I think riff raff is wicked with the music it already has, it's what makes it so unique & different to other raves in the leeds area. I don't think hardstyle would go down very well with the riff raff regulars at all, to be fair. If you want hardstyle, why don't you go to one of the many hardstyle nights in leeds/the north? There's plenty of 'em! Riff Raff is a mix of hard techno/trance and that's the way it's stayin'! :P yay.

I actually like a lot of hardstyle but I wouldn't want it to become a major part of riff raff, it may well be liked by "half the crowd" but it'd likely alienate the other half. I don't want to see riff raff go the way of cabbage.

I don't really have much of an issue with what's played at the moment, I've never come out of riff raff feeling like the music was bad though I can't help suspecting that the residents are giving them too difficult a task playing such long sets every month, I've no experience of DJing but simply finding two hours worth of original good hard dance that'll all mix together well every month given that it's mostly going to the same crowd, touring DJs can get away with a bit of repetition, residents cannot.

When did anyone here say they wanted it to become a major part of Riff Raff? People have asked for a BIT of Hardstyle to be played.

Im sure the odd hour wont kill anyone.

but a bit of hardstyle *is* played, if they regularly started playing hour sets of hardstyle it'd be as major a part of riff raff as hard trance/NRG/acid techno is.

"going for your friends" may be how it is on the goth scene but riff raff's always been about the music.

I would be seriously pissed off if I found the main dancefloor unpleasant to be on for a whole hour.

I wish Riff Raff would do a bit of Hardstyle

Okay firstly, what the fuck? Im not a Goth. I dont belong to a Goth Scene and I dont just go out to be with friends. I go for the music but occasionally i will go to night i wouldnt normally go to because of friends and its turned out to be an awsome night!

Take these examples. This is Italian Hardstyle. Which is a lot "fluffier"

Duuuuude. Selkirks 'hardstyle' set at the weekend was aboslutely perfect for riff raff, infact probably one of my favourite sets ive ever heard at riff raff in terms of tunes!! Any harder and it wouldnt have been right in my opinion... Dont get me wrong, them few songs youve posted youtube links to are good, but at riff raff they probably would clear the dancefloor at least a little bit.

if it were a random night and only an hour wasn't to my tastes then I wouldn't be pissed off. This isn't a random night it's one that I and most of the people in this thread here have been going to for years, it's always been consistently brilliant, if they started fucking with it simply to conform to the requests of a few hardstyle fans it would ruin what it is.

I say this as someone who actually fucking loves a lot of hardstyle, just hardstyle nights are a dime a dozen at the moment, blindly following what's currently popular has never been what riff raff is about and I hope it never will be.

your nick is "golgotha" and you have a typical cybergoth display pic. If you resent being referred to as a goth I'd suggest you change it. I don't consider it an insult as I occasionally *do* go to goth/cyber nights where the music's a bit iffy for the sake of having a night friends I don't usually get to go clubbing with. If riff raff became iffy in that way I'd stop going to every single one that I possibly can and that isn't something I relish the prospect of all for the sake of a handful that want music that there are plenty of nights for in the area.
