We welcome back our favourite guests, the truely awesome Lancaster trio of the Ashan Project with their full on audio-visual showcase.. expect something out of this world this time they grace the riff raff soundsystem as they'll be intending to install a special one of show peice of multiple mapped visuals throughout the venue.. stunning...

After blowing the roof of last time they orbited riff raff the Ashan project aliens will be landing with us regulary with the engagement of a quartly riff raff residency... !! with a brand new show everytime they play out you are in for a galaxy of treats over the year.. check out June 13th Riff Raff for the first installment..

Supporting will be the return of faveourite Keith Fox and ressidents OLY NRG, GLOWBONES, and SELKIRK...

In the house room things are getting deep and groovey with welcome visits from Smokescreen soundsystem, the original deep house soundsystem.. Damien Bailey and Frandanski will be keeping the groove on the house soundsystem... joined by residents Tom Ireland and the lovely Lilo Lovers...

That was wicked, the Ashan Project tonight were by far the best act I have seen at Riff Raff so far.

I liked how the headliners were towards the end, and being the Ashan Project we had a full house when the lights came on :D

Absolutely no complaints in the slightest, was a really good night!

- On another note, just wondered what people around here do when riff raff stops for the summer. Do they have any free parties or anything like that, or does everyone just go festival?

Shamania had a riff raff tent last year Ryan, no shamania this year tho :(

Was thinking of stewarding beat herder

In summer I usually take a long break from going out, but for the last couple of years I've been to Unity Day in Hyde Park.
It's a community event with several dance tents and live music stages, breakdance wars, a semi-serious (being LS6) canine competition, food stalls, etc.
The date is made public only two weeks before due to unspecified health and safety reasons, it's usually the first or second Saturday of August, from noon until 8-9pm. Daytime is thoroughly enjoyable although I've been told that the vibe tends to goes sour in the evening (it's called 'one too many pints' syndrome).

Unity Day 2008

Gutted I didn't make it last night, didn't feel in top form and I have a few demanding weeks ahead :-(

And yeeah, can't believe I forgot unity day as well, (although to be fair I wasn't in a good mindset when I wrote that earlier :P), will have to actually make it down this time, I've been on hols past two years :(

PS Who's playing in July?

Paul Glazby according to facebook, must admit I was hoping proteus would make it this season but I'm sure it'll still be a good night, I couldn't make it to this one or the last due to being out of the country and exams, should make july though :).

didn't like ashan project, sorry, not my cup of tea.

but the atmosphere and the set times were really good this time, nice to see Oly in a later spot cause people usually miss his sets when they arrive later.

didn't enjoy it as much as i felt i would after the break i've had from RR. was a good night, don't get me wrong, but something just feels different now :T
