It’s been a while since we hosted a DJ competition and with so many new DJ’s on the Leicester scene we thought it was time to pull them all together to battle it out for the Helsinki crown. We selected the five DJ’s from a list drawn up by promoters and venues and general discussions with local clubbers as to who they thought was a top local Jock. We point out that this is not necessarily scientific but it is just a bit of fun and we hope it stimulates other DJ’s to get in touch for our next Future Hero competition in the New Year.

It is fair to say that the 5 shortlisted DJ’s (J-Luv, Steph Cooper, J Chez, Jamie Baggatts and Steve Allen ) have all worked very hard over the last year promoting their various nights and skills. And as Helsinki is Leicester’s longest running music venue (now in our 23 year) we thought it was time for a head2head contest at the Leicester’s Home of House.

So…. if you’re a house music fan and live in or around Leicester we would love you to come and support your favourite DJ for what promises to be a stormer of an event. Entry is free before 10pm and you can also get Happy Hour cocktails from 9pm til 11pm. The infamous Helsinki Long Island Iced Tea is always a good start to your evening.
