The Lashed 3rd Birthday preview with Lisa herself!

Lisa with her manager Roman

Hi Lisa! How’s things in Lashes Land?

Very good, very busy! I’m just finishing the Lashed World Tour which has been manic but so much fun. We’re all very happy with how it all went.

What have been your most exciting developments this year?

There have been a few I must say! At the beginning of the year my Lashed compilation came out on Resist followed by a UK & Ireland Tour. Then for the first time, we organised a Lashed in Ibiza holiday and play in all the summer’s hot spots. Then I embarked on the Lashed World Tour which saw me play all over the world, literally! And production-wise, the release of my track with Ingo ‘Desire’ which has done really well.

Do you have any longer term plans? Say, for if you ever decided to give up DJing?

I have no intention in giving up! I know I have achieved a lot, but there are still so many more things to be done. I’m having the best time ever doing what I do at the moment.

We’ve got the next Lashed party coming up at The Emporium this Saturday…when was the last event?

I’ve been doing many Lashed gigs recently (every week almost!) as part of the Lashed World Tour. The last big one was the Lashed First Birthday in Wales at Evolution in Cardiff in November. We’ve all really been looking forward to this one at the Emporium because it’s the Xmas Party and the 3rd Birthday party at the same time, so it’s going to be MASSIVE!

Who’s on the line-up and who are you really looking forward to seeing?

The breaks room should be amazing with Rennie Pilgrim and Freq Nasty on the line up alongside myself and Lashed’s most talented breaks resident Max Cooper.

What’s planned for Lashed in 2006? Where else would you like to see the venture go?

My diary is almost fully booked for the first of the year. I’m playing all over the UK and Ireland as part of the Lashed Digital Download Tour. And I’ll be doing a few gigs in the South East of Asia. You can also expect the release of another Lashed compilation.

On the breaks front, who really did it for you this year?

Each time I see Max Cooper play, I am stunned at the quality of his mixing skills. He is definitely the hottest new talent on the breaks scene. Aquasky have done brilliantly production-wise this year. I’ve played their tunes a lot in my sets. And Plump DJs remain my fave!

What were your biggest tunes in Hard Dance and Breaks respectively this year?

Breaks: Move Ya & Steve Lavers ‘The Ride’ (Audio Bug) – Hard Dance: BK ‘Walk The Walk’ (Riot!).

Is there anything that you haven’t achieved yet that you would really like to by this time next year?

More gigs in places I’ve never been to, more production work, more Lashed parties… more of everything really!

And finally, what’s the happiest you’ve been all year?

Right now! When I look back at everything that’s happened this year and how lucky I’ve been. It’s been another amazing year and hopefully 2006 will also be full of happy surprises.
