House, Breakbeat, Birthdays!!
What can we say about Saturday night other than that it was AWESOME!!

We had a great turnout with an up for it crowd, no doubt aided by the numerous birthday celebrations that were taking place (Happy Birthday Gemma, Matty and anyone else who was celebrating with us!!), and how busy Liverpool was with the Grand National on during the day!! A big, big THANK-YOU to everyone that came down and made it such a great night!!

Kicking off the night musically we had Neil Drinkwater making his Funkadelic debut! Neil played an excellent set, with my particular highlights of his hour-and-a-half being the awesome No Assembly Firm - All Jacked Up, and Ben Watt - Pop A Cap In Yo Ass (absolute stone cold classic tune)!! I'm sure Neil will be back in action on the Funkadelic 'tables again soon!!

Next up it was me, and after a few months out of it it felt great to be back in the Bar! There's nothing like that room when its rocking! I bloody love it in fact!! Starting off quite deep i upped the jack factor towards the end. If i had £1 for every time someone asked me what the Moodymann remix of Norma Jean Bell's "Baddest Bitch" was i'd be... well, considerably richer than i am now!! Awesome track!!

Steve Brown took to the tables next and bashed out his usual big, bouncing breaks. Kicking off with a Funkadelic classic towards the start of his set (Jose Gonzalez - Cosses) and finishing with another belter (Testify) Steve worked the crowd nicely before our next (returning) resident took the controls...

Liam Bulloch, playing a more stripped down, proggy set kept the crowd moving right til the end. Liam's as always faultless mixing was impressive to say the least. If you're going over to the White Isle this summer, be sure to find out where he's playing, you don't wanna miss this guy!! I'm massively jealous that he's going over there for five months though - bar-steward!!! It was great to have you back Liam, and hopefully it won't be so long til your next outing at Funkadelic!!

All in all, an excellent night!! Once again, a massive thanks to everyone that came down and made it a great night!!

Some more pics to come shortly
