On 6th March 2009 54 Music will officially be open for business. After 6 months of searching every corner of the globe and scouring through hundreds of entry demo’s, the winners of 54 Music’s search for the biggest producer of tomorrow are ready to be revealed. And to showcase the incredible talent uncovered in this once in a lifetime competition opportunity and prepare them for their production debut at the Winter Music Conference, expect a party to end all parties...
With performances on the night from incredible 54 Music collaborators Audiojack, Inland Knights, Shur-I-Kan and Kanio, as well as by the winning producers, you can expect a legendary shindig firmly placing 54 Music on the map as one of the most unique and exciting new labels around today. With two sides to the outfit, Light and Dark, 54 London will cross genres in house to create a diverse imprint on which to release top class music from some of the most exciting new producers around.
Remixing the winning entry on the tech house, minimal and techno branch of 54 Music, the Dark side of the label, will be one of the most exciting and talented music acts to develop in recent years, Audiojack. After the massive success of their debut release ‘Robot’, endless releases and remixes, and with support from world class DJs such as Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia and Luciano, there’s no doubting these guys will work their well honed electronic genius on the chosen track. The runner up on the Dark Side will also be lucky enough to have their track remixed by Beatport chart regular, Kanio. With an insane ability to produce the coolest rolling minimal techno and support from the likes of Claude von Stroke and Sebastian Leger there’s no stopping this still relatively new addition to the ever expanding minimal scene.
Remixing the winning track on the more eclectic Light side, showcasing broken beats, deep house and nu jazz, are the Inland Knights. These DJs, producers and promoters, have been running incredible nights and releasing tracks since the early 90’s. Legends in their field and with support from an endless array of fellow DJs, they love to party as much as produce and keep their heads firmly above ground with continual tours and incredible events thrown out at a tireless pace. The second place Light side track will receive treatment from deep house mastermind, Shur-I-Kan. Discovered by Tom Middleton and with fans including massive acts such as Spirit Catcher and Funk D’Void, this guy has risen through the ranks to become one of the international deep house scenes most talented DJ/producers.
