Slightly weird, dodgy door management, but some good bits
The night didn't start that well... having arrived at 8.30 to take advantage of the "free entry before 9" as advertised on the thousands of flyers, only to be told that it was free before 8, not 9. The posters outside the venue had actually had pieces of paper with a "8" written on stuck over the "9".

The flyers also said the prices were £6 or £8. This turned out to be £8 or £10. So anyone turning up at 8.30 would have had to pay £8 instead of £0.

The DSI advert said it was on until 3.30. It was actually set to finish at 1.00.

I enjoyed the early sets in the bar (got there just in time for Ryu's and whoever played after him), but that was mainly because the main room seemed to open late. I'm not sure what time the main room was meant to start, as there was no main room set list posted anywhere that any of us could see.

Also popped into the little room at the back, which was unfortunately very quiet (I didn't even know the room was there, which might explain it). Some excellent stuff going on in there early on too - even if I couldn't see who they were either.

Caught a bit of Coburn in the bar after that - I knew what to expect from their recent set at Chew The Fat - they played a good set. Admittedly, a bit too much of the rock-pop-bootleg stuff for my usual tastes, but I know that's what to expect from them, and they do it pretty well.

Around mid-way through the night the music in the main room was really building up well - kinda tech house I suppose I would call it - and the crowd were really getting into things.

At that point, the act I assume to be Lopazz (no set list anywhere, remember, but it was a guy with a synth and a mic and a woman standing next to him) came on. Now I don't think what they were playing was *bad* as such, it was just such a drop in energy from the previous set, that the place just seemed to lose all the excitement it had. The main room stopped dancing, and a fair number of people started to empty out by about midnight, taking me with them.

Damn, I want to be positive - after all, I saw a few good sets there - but the taking the piss with entry prices, the lack of info as to who was playing and the poor running order that left the night with a feeling of unfulfilment didn't help much.

Agreed - why the hell did it finish at 1.30 am? Were they not making enough money out of us or something?

Because 93 FE always has a 1am licence.

("Apparently", they had tried and failed to get an extension. Which doesn't explain the sudden change in all the prices. If anything, it should have got cheaper!)
